The Hospital

Kali's POV:

"im so sorry...i couldnt protect you..." i said in the hospital room where Danny was laying. he suffered severe brain damage, fractured his left leg and broke 6 bones in his body. this happened alot. he was constantly bullied at school. beaten and tormented by the other kids girls and boys. i guess its better living here then with Him. but we cant go back anyway. not until i find i new place to live. i dont care how much money i have to pay. i will save him. i just need time.

i look out the window and saw the leaves all over the ground wind flying by, brushing them away. Poor Danny couldnt look peaceful again. never mind his never ending nightmares of Him leaving him. i feel so bad. thats just it though. he didnt even walk out. i kicked him out. i couldnt help but see that he wasnt the guy i had married two years ago. i had to do something to protect my little boy. i know i havent protected him in the past but still....

"i am such a bad mother..." i said letting the tears roll down my face just staring out that window. "i should have done better..after i kicked your father out...i needed to. im scared hes gonna come back for you...i dont know what hes capable of..."

"what are you talking about?" i heard come from behind me.

Danny....hes...okay? he didnt sound injured.

i turn to look at him. he was sitting up in his bed. his face was bright red. he had heard me...everything i had said...was he pretending to be asleep? how much did he hear?

"Danny!" was all i could say.

"Daddy's coming back? you said he wasnt coming back."

"Danny its grown up business. you shouldnt be eaves dropping like that."

"but you were basically talking to me"

"well...yes...but i thought i was talking in my head. i guess i wasnt. im sorry DAnny. i didnt mean for you to hear all that but since you did i guess i have to tell you what actually happened with your father.."
