The Unova Region was primarily famous for its massive cities, diverse landscapes, and its blend of cultures from all over the world. However, to the historical and archaeological communities, it was famous for its ancient ruins and historical sites.
One of these historical sites went by the name of 'The Abundant Shrine'. it was a small field in the middle of the forest with tilled soil full of nutrients. In the center of this clearing, was a small shrine dedicated to the god of fertility.
However, this story is not about the shrine or even the field it stands in. The focus of this story is inside a small house that is used by the family that maintains this historical heritage site.
it was a young girl no older than thirteen. she had long black hair that went down to her shoulder blades, somewhat pale skin, as well as beautiful heterochromic eyes, one sea foam green, the other burnt orange.
This girl was named Yuki Aria. She was a very shy and easily intimidated girl. This mainly stemmed from the fact that the people from the school she used to go to when she was little constantly made fun of her unusual eyes. she was also rather afraid of pokémon, due to a scary encounter with a swarm of Beedrill when she was five.
The one one thing Yuki found pleasure in, was music. she loved to play her many instruments when she wasn't humming and singing while tending to the fields with her parents. When ever she was upset or scared, music would always help cheer her up.
Right now Yuki was on the house's screened front porch playing a peaceful tune on her violin. As she got to the end of her tune, she looked at the clock on the porch table. It was 2 o'clock. she had to tend to the revival herb field.
After going inside and getting ready, Yuki put on her work gloves and hat, took the watering can to the well to fill it up, and proceeded to the fields, humming all the way.
After pulling out a few weeds and watering the occasional wilted herb, Yuki suddenly heard a rustling in some bushes nearby. Normally she would be scared and run to tell her parents about it, but a sensation she could not identify made her curious to check it out.
As Yuki slowly walked up to the foliage, the sensation of familiarity came to her mind. However she had no idea why she would be feeling this. When she finally reached the bush she pulled apart a few twigs and found a most unusual sight.
It was a small pokémon with a girlish figure. It had flowing green hair with narrow black highlights and blue spots that made it resemble a music staff. it had a black hair clip that looked like a stage headset and a round white face with no nose. It's body resembled a black party dress that covered its arms and fingerless hands with a green band around its hourglass waist.
However the thing that drew Yuki's attention the most was that this pokémon was covered in dirt, bruises, and scrapes.
To her own amazement, Yuki picked up the pokémon and rushed to the house and placed the pokémon on the couch. She placed a hand to the small pokémon's forehead and felt it had a high fever.
She then rushed to the kitchen remembering what her mother taught her, and wet a towel and pulled out some herbs harvested from the fields along with with a mortar and pestle.
Yuki ground some medicinal herbs and energy root into a fine powder. She then took out a small glass retort and filled it with water and the powder. She ground up a little more medicine and made it into a paste. She took the medicine back to the couch along with some gauze.
Yuki kneeled down next to the couch and gently spoke "Don't worry. You'll be fine. But this medicine is going to taste bitter and it may also sting a bit."
She proceeded to lightly lather the paste on the wounds and wrapped the gauze around the injuries. She then sat down and picked up the pokémon in her arms.
"Okay. Drink up." Yuki took the retort and fed it to the pokémon like a bottle to a baby.
After it finished taking the medicine, the pokémon finally started to walk up. It let out a few groans of mild discomfort and the opened its eyes. They were the exact same shade of seafoam green as Yuki's left eye.
Yuki froze up. Not from fear like it usually was, but instead from amazement and a strange feeling in her heart that suggested she recognized this pokémon.
Yuki then asked a question that popped into her head as soon as she saw those seafoam eyes, "Are you... Meloetta?"
The small pokémon hesitantly nodded her head as it still seemed to hurt quite a bit, and then fell back asleep.
