Fallon
I jump awake in the morning to the sound of a crash. I'm not even in my bed. I'm in Michael's but he's gone and his spot is cold. I sneak to my room and grab my emergency bat.

If this is who I think it is, I'm gonna scream at the top of my lungs and charge. My heart beats out of my chest as I quietly descend the stairs. It's super quiet. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before stepping into the living room holding the bat up in swinging position.

"Fally!" Imani yells cheerfully,"Come watch SpongeBob with me and daddy."

Michael gives me a confused look. They're both on the floor in their pajamas eating breakfast.

"Why are you holding a damn bat? You look like you've seen a ghost." He says while getting up.

I step away in reflex ad hit my back against the wall.

"I heard a crash. I thought something was wrong." I reply.

"We're fine. Now, go put the bat away. You're scaring me." He says a bit annoyed.

I trudge up the stairs and put the bat back under my bed. I brush my teeth and wash my face before walking back down. Michael waits for me at the bottom of the stairs with a stern look.

"What?" I ask stopping in front of him.

"You need to press charges against him." He says with putting emphasis on charges.

"And what if I don't?" I ask.

"You'll be running away your entire life. Look at you, Fallon! You're paranoid." He says.

Harsh much. I guess my face gives away the hurt because he softens.

"Sorry... It's just that... It's not okay. You know, everything that happened to you. I would just like to see justice served." He says softly now.

"Well, Mr. Lawyer, the world isn't always fair. Get over it." I state harshly.

I push him out of the way and walk to the kitchen.

"Good morning, Harry." I say while taking a seat at the kitchen island.

Harrison is flipping some pancakes on the griddle. I take in the smell and smile a little.

"Morning. Want some breakfast?" He asks.

"Heck yeah....please." I add in at the end.

He stacks a plate with hot pancakes and slides it over to me.

"Thank you." I say politely.

"You're welcome."

I sit and eat in silence to the sound of SpongeBob in the background. Imani squeals from time to time and I hear Michael say something. Why did God have to make my situation like this?

"Fallon." Harrison calls.

"Yeah?"

"You like Michael, don't you?" He states more than he asks.

"What are you talking about. He's my boss." I say in disgust.

"I see how y'all act around each other. Just playing hard to get." He says while shaking his head.

"Oh please, Harrison. Michael is not my type." I say as I stab my fork into my pancake.

"He is just your type. You two are just too hard headed to see."

I roll my eyes. Michael walks into the kitchen with dishes and ignores me. I look down at my plate and act as if I don't notice. He leaves the kitchen and I hear him climb up the stairs. I bite my lip and leave my plate on the table.

"I'll be back." I tell Harrison as I leave the kitchen.

I climb up the stairs in pursuit of Mr. Lawyer.
