Prologue:

We ran away as fast as we could. There was a lot of them and only two of us. I  pray we are faster. We were getting further and further away as we entered deeper and deeper into the forest, but one of them was well equipped with a bow and arrow. They were able to shoot my partner in her left leg.

“Saki!” I yelled. I looked down at my partner. Tears welled in my eyes.

“Go on without me…” Saki said. I looked into her eyes. I solemnly shook my head.

“I refuse to leave you Saki,” I frowned. “You know what the punishment is for accepting a Namiki!”

“Look stop wasting time and go! If they kill me I’ll be back in a few hundred years or so, but if you die then we’re both dead!” Saki tore her eyes away from me. She began coughing roughly. Soon blood spewed out of her mouth.

            “But…” I said quietly.

“Hey I can see them!” A voice in the distant yelled.

“Quick, do not let them get away!” The Exterminators were in plain sight of us now.

“Go now!” Saki shouted. Her face showed she was in excruciating pain. Lots of blood flowed out of her leg. She got her hand and pushed me causing me to stumble slightly.

The next thing I knew I was running, running away from the Exterminators, from Saki…

I ran with all my might, heaving gasping for air, and tears flying everywhere blinding my eyes. Saki was right. Someday we will meet and be together again. We share the same life after all.

“Damn it! The Namiki got away!”

“Don’t worry at least we have its partner,” The leader of the Exterminators said. “As long as we have this traitor that Namiki is powerless. It’s nothing, but a street rat.” He chuckled.

“What should we do with this traitor Sir?”

The leader knelt down and picked up Saki’s head. He smirked. Saki eyes weak and tired look into his. She could hardly feel her own self breath. She silently prayed that this would all be over soon. He looked solemnly in her clear hazel eyes.

“Just kill her. She’s nothing, but a useless traitor,” He said. He dropped her head and walked away. Saki thumped to the ground.

“Yes sir!” They Exterminators said in unison.

That was the end of Saki, but the beginning as well. . .
