Chapter 2
Reunited
“Sleeping beauty finally decides to join us for breakfast I see,” Mom said with a grin.
“What are you smiling about?” I asked annoyed. I had a hunch my mom had something in stored for me.
“Hiro is going to introduce you to some people in town!” Mom said excitedly. “Don’t worry they speak English, but you should try to learn some Japanese. Its part of your heritage,” I sat down on the chair.
“So what’s for breakfast?” I asked. My mother sighed.
“Hiro’s taking you out for breakfast,” My father said. “Remember if he does anything and I mean anything that makes you feel uncomfortable you come to me!” My father held up his fist to his face.
“I’m right here you know,” Hiro said. He was leaning against the wall near the fridge. Cho was on his shoulder happily munching on a nut or something. My father didn’t bother to turn his head towards him.
Hiro had an annoyed expression on his face.
“Let’s go,” Hiro said.
“Okay,” I said. I followed Hiro out the door.
“So what do you feel like eating?” Hiro asked me while we were walking. I thought about it. What do they have in Japan to eat? I pondered on this thought for awhile. I know they eat rice and sushi, but that’s about it…
“Ouch!” I bumped into a tree and fell directly to the floor. Hiro started to laugh hysterically.
“You’re really clumsy aren’t ya?” Hiro said still filled with laughter. I blushed.
STUPID STUPID STUPID! I thought to myself. WHO THE HECK BUMPS INTO A TREE THEN FALLS FLAT ON THEIR BUTT?! My head faced the floor. I could still hear him laugh. I didn’t want him to see me all red.
“Hazel?” I looked up. Hiro’s hand was reaching out to me. “You okay?” Hiro asked. He had a concerned expression on his face. “I’m sorry for laughing at ya,” Hiro said. I looked at him shocked. Just a second ago he was laughing his butt off while mine was hurt. Now he’s worried? I grabbed on to his hand and it pulled me up.
“I’m just fine,” I said with a smile.

5 seconds has passed.
“Uhh…” I felt myself blush. “Can you let go of my hand?”
“Ah! Sorry,” Hiro said and quickly let go. “Cho just seems to be very comfortable with you,” Hiro said looking at my shoulder. Cho was on it!
“Ekk!” I shrieked. I waved my arms like a complete idiot and Cho flew off, literally. Cho landed safe and snug on Hiro’s shoulder. I sighed with relief she wasn’t hurt.
Cho’s and Hiro’s eyes were on me. I started to panic.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to-”
“You must be starving now. You burned off quite a lot of energy,” He laughed and I swear that squirrel was laughing to. “Hey have you decided what you wanted to eat yet anyway?” Hiro asked.
“Oh uh…” Again I pondered the thought of what they had to eat here. “Err… I’ll just eat whatever you eat,” I said. A devilish smile came out of Hiro’s face.
