"What is your name?" the girl asked.

The stranger replied in a slow gravel like tone that slowly became clearer "My name is......my name? It has been a long time since I used my name or any one has asked for it, but nonetheless my name is van moon."

"You look pale, are you okay" she asked.

"Oh yes I'm fine, this is quiet normal for.....what I am." Van moon replied with the hint of a smile.

At that the girl was confused. "What do you mean for what you are? What are you?" She asked.

"Why I'm a vampire and a Brujh Promethean." He replied.

"Yeah right," The girl said giggling, "and I'm a fairy princess."

"I dare not joke, I speak only the truth." van moon said

"Well then prove it." She said mocking him with her disbelieve.

"Very well." He said and with a loud grunt his bones buckled, his skin grew hot, and his hair got shorter and thicker. Now standing before the girl was no longer a man but a wolf with blood red eyes that pierced in to her soul. Terrified she ran and when she looked back the wolf was gone. But when she turned around van moon was standing right in front of her in his human form. She looked at him in fear and ran home as fast as her legs would carry her. She spent the next three weeks unable to sleep, every time she dreamed it was a nightmare about Van Moon in his wolf form.

The young woman decided to go and find Van Moon to try and put an end to her nightmares but, when she went to the place where she had found him. Van Moon was not there so, she decided to wait for him and several days pasted, coming every night to the same spot, and on the night of the blood moon Van moon appeared in the shadows before her just outside the pool of light created by a street lamp the hung above the bench were she sat.

"Greetings," Van Moon said with a grin, "How.......wonderful to see thee again."

The girl just sat there staring at him so he asked, "Why has thou returned? Dose thou wish me to end thy nightmares, don't look so shocked for I can read thy thoughts."

"My name is Bailey, Bailey Sear." she responded.

"Thou has surprised me, I thought thee would run knowing that thou thoughts are not safe from me." Van Moon becoming curious of her intentions.

"Van Moon wh..." Bailey started to say before Van Moon interrupted her.

"Pleas call me Van." Van smiled baring his fangs.

"Ok Van, why did you tell me that your....what you are?" Bailey said cautiously choosing her words.

"Because thou asked me my name and because thou also remind me of someone I once know. She was mortal like thee but she had lived eight thousand years ago" Van said in a firm but weak voice.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Bailey asked looking softly at him her kind hearted instincts get the better of her.

"Nay, not to thee." with that van vanished and Bailey started to walk home. As she walked home she suddenly realized that it had become quiet, deathly quiet. Even the crickets were silent. Bailey grew scared so she started to walk faster and faster.

Then, out of nowhere appeared a Nightmarish Beast. The decaying, leathery skin fell off in small pieces all over its body. The body was short and the neck elongated. The smell that radiated off of it reaked of rotting flesh, and it carried a long, dirty femur bone in its right hand. It then gave a low disoriented growl towards her. Bailey turned to run but there was another creature, and they started to close in on her when a dark figure with wings attacked one, the other just vanished. The other creature was one unlike baliey had ever seen before. The gargoyle-like being had the head, arms and torso of a gorilla. As well as the legs and tail resembling a lion. The wings were bat like in nature and spread atleast the length of Bailey's body across.

The Gargoyle grabbed the other nightmarish beast with a firey rage. Fighting viciously, the beast drove the femur bone in to the eye of the creature that picked it up. The femur bone broke causing blood to spay everywhere, enraged by its damaged eye the lion-gorilla hybread bit the head off of the smaller beast and crushed it between its teeth. With a snap, the brains of the smaller beast splattered out on the ground inches from Bailey's feet. Soon after the creature vanished as well. That's when Bailey heard a voice coming from the shadows.

"Thou should be more careful." The voice said comely.

"Who's there?" Bailey said shaking in fear until Van stepped out of the shadows.

"What were those things just now?" Bailey stepped forth with fear and precaution towards Van.

"They are called Glaxses and the winged creature was an elemental demon called Zulo. I summoned the Zulo but the Glaxses were summoned by the Tzimisce." Van answered.

"The Tzimisce?" Bailey looked at Van confused about what was happening.

"The Tzimisce are one of the thirteen vampire clans. The Brujh and the Tzimisce have been at war for the last ten thousand years." Van moved her out of view so they could take privately.

"But why did they attack me?" Bailey's eyes began to tear as if she was about cry.

"They attacked thee to get to me." Van said with a hint of rage.

"But why?" asked Bailey "Why do they want you?"

Van answered but kept his head down, "Because I am the only Brujh left, if they get me they win the war."

"What happened to the rest of your clan?" Bailey asked quietly.

"They were all used as guinea pigs in the experiments of the Tremere," Van stated coldly,

"The Tremere and the Tzimisce have worked at obliterating the Brujh clan since 478B.C. I have eluded them for the last eight and a half thousand years with the help of the Giovanni another of the clans." Van said his eyes icing over as if recalling a long lost memory.

"May I please know more?" Bailey gave him a pleading look.

"Nay," Van proclaimed his voice laced with anger "I have let my tongue be unhinged for to long already."

"But.." Bailey tried to protest but Van stopped her.

"It is late go home!" Van said his voice rising.

"Why?" Bailey tried to ask but Van disappeared in to thin air. She walked home deep in thought about what she had heard and learned from Van.

As she was walking the hairs on the back of her neck began to stand on end, Then she realized that she was in a neighborhood she didn't recognize. Fear gripped her as she wandered about, Looking for some shred of familiar territory but she could not find any. As Bailey rounded a corner she saw an old house at the end of the street, and for a split second she thought she had seen a shadowy figure on the roof, draped in a shredded cloak, but when she looked it again the figure was gone.

The air was still and an ominous feeling found its way into Bailey's heart, filling her with unease and out of fear she ran, not paying attention to where she was going. Then she ran down an alley and found a dead end, she turned around and saw someone lying behind a dumpster. When she walked over to see if the person could give her directions, she discovered it was a man who appeared able to hold his own in a fight, but he was dead with no injury except for a little blood from his throat. Frightened Bailey ran, she ran and did not stop until day break.

As the first rays of the sun drifted a crossed Bailey's cheek, she realized she had fainted. Then she noticed that even though it was morning it was not as bright as it should have been. Then Bailey was startled when she opened her eyes and found she was not outside where she had fainted, but rather was in a house. Bailey was unsure as she went over to the window that the sunlight was coming through. At once she knew where she was. She was in the old house on the hill that she saw earlier, but she could not remember how she got there. She turned around to take another look at the room. She saw things she did not see before, there were paintings of people eating each other and a faint smell of blood was coming off of the paintings.
