                      Forsaken

People are incognizant creatures,

of what they mean to both neighbors and strangers.

Oblivious to their countless gifts and features,

Alas this will not change throughout the ages.

Hermit crabs are not unlike human beings

They seek companionship, they need a friend.

Just like people, they can fail in seeing

Those who will love them until the end.

For both crabs and humans this brings happiness in scores

But when the crab or human remains blind

The crab will tear off it's own claws,

While the human will be trapped within their own mind:

If one finds their thoughts are too wild, their emotions too loose,

They may seek refuge, through the stool and the noose.
