As Jack was walking home he felt as if he was being watched. As he got closer to his house, he got increasingly nervous. The closer he got to his house, it seemed the sky would to get darker. Halfway down his block it was nearly pitch black. The only light Jack could see was the dim light coming from the living room of one of the houses. Feeling extremely nervous, he ran home. He burst through the door breathing heavily. He saw his mother sitting on the couch watching TV. "What's wrong, Jack?" she asked.
Jack looked out the window, he could see clearly. The street wasn't dark anymore. It was as if nothing had happened. "Jack, everything alright?" she asked again.
"Yeah everything's fine," Jack answered.
"Why are you breathing so hard?"
"Just felt like running."
Jack went upstairs trying to figure out what had happened. What the hell was that?! He thought to himself. As he sat in his room thinking he thought he could hear a dog bark. Looking out the window he was surprised to see that there was nothing there. I must be going crazy he thought as he opened his backpack to get his homework.
A couple minutes later he had finished with his homework and opened a book to read. While Jack read he could hear the barking again. Looking out the window he saw a dog, but with a closer look he saw it had dark red eyes. He closed his eyes to see if he was imagining things, and when he opened them it was gone.
