"Ouch," I whisper as I fall to my knees on the sidewalk.

Just run, run, run don't stop! As I run I can still hear my parents yelling, but what they are yelling is quite hazy. Just what I was looking for. I can't hear what they are saying to each other for once. Wait, I forgot to get Zach from the bus stop. I turn back around, and a pass numerous amount of trailers, and then my trailer where I can still hear my Dad, and Mom fighting over how my father needs to get a job, and stop being so lazy. He argues that his back makes it impossible. Finally, I arrive at the bus stop where Zachary is sitting down, and reading a book about the Titanic. Thank goodness, I can't believe I forgot about my own brother!

"Sissy" my brother says in a soft tone.

"Yes, Zach."

"Can we go to the park, please."

As I think, I realize I can practice shooting for the big game next

Wednesday.

"Sure Zach, I just have to go grab the basketball though."

"But Mom, and Daddy are still angry" Zach whimpers.

"I know buddy, I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault" My brother says as he smiles, and that's when I wonder Maybe it is my fault, my dad did stop working when I was born.

"Well i'm gonna go grab my basketball, and you stay here.", I say, "I'll be right back, and we will go to the park, Okay?"

"Okay."

I run to go grab my Basketball, and I realize it's in my room. I was sure it was outside.I knock on the door, and wait for someone to open the door. A few moments later my mom opens the door. Her face a bright red, mascara dripping down her blotchy face.

"Can I grab my basketball?" I ask

"Here let me get it for you, hun"

"Thank you"

"Where are you going" My mom asks

"I'm going to the park with Zach"

"Okay, be back before dark" She says in a soft tone the one she used to use when everything was, well, okay.

"I will, I will probably be back in an hour or so cause I have homework"

"Okay, Be safe, and don't let your brother get hurt" She says with her eyes that say I'm not joking.

"Okay mom" I say with eyes that show I understand!

"Okay I know you understand, but I need you to be safe."

"Okay mom, bye I love you." As I walk down the stairs of the porch I hear the smashing of glass.

"Mom, what was that?" My face probably has the words I am concerned written all over it.

"I don't know" She says even though I can tell that she knows when she says, "Go get your brother right away!"

"Okay"I say already starting to sprint.

When I got to the park I yelled for Zach. For minutes I couldn't find him. So I yelled one more time and I finally spotted him. He ran to me.

"We have to go right now!" I say wiping the tears away.

"Why?"

"Because we just, need to leave!", I was certainly just as confused as he was.

"Okay, but can we come back" Zach looked at me like he really didn't wanna leave

"I don't know, Zach", "Probably not".

I ran back faster than my legs could carry me. Zach holding my hand as we sprint down 14th Avenue. My mom is sitting in the car, and the car is pulling out of the empty driveway. My mom starts driving towards us, and when she stops I see that the car is filled with me and Zach's essentials and our most important belongings. I jump in the front seat of our Camry. I look back, and I see my dad just yelling. His sound is blocked out by my favorite song which I choose to turn up even louder than it originally was. I was done with listening to him and my mom yell.

"Mom, where are we going?" Zach asks, his eyes filling with water even more the farther we go from Bangor.

"Somewhere safer, and away from your stupid father"

"Okay, but where"? I responded quickly.

"You'll see" She says.

"Where are we going!" I snapped

"YOU WILL SEE!"

"Fine, whatever" I mumble the words so quietly it was practically a whisper.

I kept looking in the back seat, wondering why i'm in a car with my belongings heading to this mystery destination.
