Deathly choice..

First day of high school. It was like a dream come true. I impatiently looked at my clock.Ugh. It was only 5:00 am. It had been such a long night. I guess this is the result of excitement and nervousness.

My elder brother, Edward had been telling me tales of high school that high school is this, high school is that and blah, blah, blah…..now I will witness all these things.

It has been two hours since I have been having flashes of past, of how much our lives had changed since I met Emma Drew, my best friend. We had been together in middle school.She is a skinny girl with fine features. Her hair are long, silky and dirty blonde in color and she is quite confident. When we had met each other, we used to fight like cat and dog and I guess we continue doing so. Soon she had joined my friend circle, I was very much annoyed at Zane and Nancy, my girlfriends but eventually we ended up becoming lab partners. I used to try avoiding Emma as much as possible and same was the case with Emma.

One day, she came to me in school. She said she had come across a gossip that Jade Auston a basketball champ  was going to propose me in front of everyone. No one knew but he was my first crush.I was shocked and embarrassed even by the thought of it.

In the cafeteria the first thing that I did that day was to find Jade. His tall muscular figure and honey blond hair were easy to spot. He was sitting on the most crowded table with his friends after all basketball players are always popular.

I went up to Jade, “Hey Jade, can I talk to you for a minute?” He and his friends reacted as if something impossible has happened. He casted a warning look at his friend and came with me. There were hidden smugness in their smile which disturbed me. He glared and then turned his back and took me to the emptiest corner of the cafe.

Jade turned to me and asked, “What?”

I didn’t know how to start but then started saying, “Um, Jade, AAA, I wanted you, AAA, how, AAA……”

He said frustratingly, “What do you want Amanda?” It made me more nervous  and I started babbling ..“I wanted you to know that I don’t like you and you don’t need to….”

He was confused and said, “What? Are you okay? I guess you need a psychiatrist!” and then he turned and went. I momentarily heard Emma laughing.

The flashback made me laugh again. I shot a look at the clock again and it was just 6:15 am.

I then decided to wake Allen, my new school mate. I called her on her cell, but she didn’t pick it up. I called her again and again but there was no reply. I then sent her a text.

I grounded, took bath. I wore my lucky shirt , deep black v-neck blouse. When I went down for my cereals [so called breakfast], Edward was already there, but in his night dress which had kiddish white stars and moon allover the blue track.

He laughed and joked, “Exited to grow up kitty?”

I then realized that it was just 6:50 am and our school starts at 8:00 am. I had dressed almost an hour before.

I gave him a spicy reply, “Dont you dare call me kitty ! and I am just a little more responsible than my elder bro and his stupid crush!”

“What are you talking about? me an a crush? as if!

I shot him a glance and then I concentrated on my cereals. When I had finished and I called Allen again. She was new to the school and so, I had suggested that she should go to school with me. But she didn’t pick her cell. I got irritated by Allen and ended up calling Emma. She picked it up at once and asked if she would like to go to school with me.

She replied, “Of course.”

After an hour, I met her at her place and we reached school on time. The assembly was about to start when I saw many of my old friends including Nancy, Jade, David, Matthew, Bayley, Jasmine, Kelvin, Zee and Raby.

He was coming to me with smile on his face, hand on his heart and a rose in his pocket when it started raining heavily. It took me a minute to realize that it was not rain but my sis pouring a bucket of water on me.

She was shouting, “Idiot, don’t you want to go to school today…?? Common get up LAZY BUM.”

I was shocked when I saw the time on the clock.

7:45 AM.

I mumbled, “Chelsey, thanx for waking me up!” and got dressed in my favourite white tank top and dark blue shorts. All shades of blue go well with my complexion.

When I was leaving the house, the time was 8:10 am already and I checked my cell. ‘11 CALLS AND 6 MESSAGES’ from Amanda. Shucks, I am gonna be dead.

I climbed in my car and reached school as fast as possible. Late for your first day in the new school. Perfect. I went to the teacher to collect my locker keys and the time table.,”You are late”

“Sorry ma’am I got up late.....” I answered hastily.

She cut me mid-sentence ’No excuses. You will have a detention with Mr.Clark Your name?’

“Allen Young”

“Here are your locker keys and your time-table. Now hurry to your class Miss Young”She ended her speak in her boring but threatening tone.

I apologized again, “Sorry ma’am.”

She said angrily, “Go to your class before I give you a week’s detention.”

I went to my locker (212)and checked my time table. I had Trig.I hate Trig. With a groan I started my journey to the classroom but on the way my pale brown eyes met blue .I didn’t know how but I was falling deeper and deeper into the blue colour of the ocean....
