Jebediah was a normal kid. Only twelve years old he wasn't held to very high standards, he had a few friends, two loving parents, and an older sister named Martha.
Jebediah had three main friends at his school: Dimitri who was very athletic, Daniella who was the top of her class in intelligence, And Adam who was always kind of shy but once Jebediah became good friends with him he turned out to be a very good friend to have. Martha never cared much about Jebediah, he always seemed pretty different from other kids his age. Martha was really popular in her school. But, Jebediah never wanted to be a member of what he called the "popular crew". Sure he liked having lots of friends but he would rather just have his small group of really good true friends.
It started one night when Jebediah was at Adam's house because Dimitri was at a sports competition and Daniella was out of town visiting relatives. Jebediah and Adam were having a good time just playing video games on a Saturday night when Adam got really serious...
Adam put down the controller and looked at Jebediah who was a little taller than he was. Adam looked very serious and said in a low tone that made Jebediah know he was telling the truth "I trust you, so please don't tell anyone this, I like Daniella, a lot". This was very conflicting for Jebediah, because he also had very strong feelings for Daniella. So, to escape the awkward situation of Adam knowing they both like Daniella Jebediah simply changed the subject back to video games. and they played for the rest of the night until Jebediah had to go home.
Jebediah then wanted to talk to Dimitri because he really trusted him with this information. So, Jebediah waited until Dimitri was back in town from his sporting event and then arranged for him to go over to his house. Jebediah and Dimitri were playing catch when Dimitri suddenly said he wanted to tell Jebediah something very important. Jebediah said wait a minute so do I, I really need to tell you this Dimitri. Dimitri said his was probably more important and he needed to tell him his thing first. Jebediah was going to tell Dimitri about Adam but Dimitri interrupted him saying "I think I really like Daniella". Jebediah was so confused that he forgot what was happening around him until Dimitri asked if he was ok. Jebediah didn't know what to say. He was so confused. He didn't know if he should just admit it to Dimitri or say he was fine and Jebediah decided he would just withhold his friend's secrets. Just say he's fine, because he had a plan... Jebediah's plan was to talk to Daniella herself, tell her about all of them, giving her the choice, and if Jebediah and her were meant to be, she would choose him over his friends.
The next morning Jebediah woke to the sound of his normal alarm clock. Even though he knew today was going to be different. He knew that today was the day he was going talk to Daniella, admitting to her that he, Dimitri, and Adam all liked her. He got out of bed and dressed himself in his normal outfit for the weather. He wore a light green T-shirt with dark blue jeans. Once he got to school, Jebediah put a note in Daniella's locker signing it, "A friend". It told her to meet him after school in the dismissal area near door 15. An uneventful day passed and before he knew it Jebediah was waiting for Daniella by door 15. He waited about five minutes before Daniella got there. At first she did not notice him because there was still a considerable crowd of people waiting for their bus. He calmly walked up to her thinking it would be best to remain casual. Then, she noticed him. She immediately smiled and Jebediah thought he saw her blush a little bit, but he couldn't be sure. They talked a little while about how her relatives were when she saw them. Until Jebediah decided it was time to tell her.
