Chapter 8

Later That Night

It's 6:00, I'm nervous. My mom is fixing my tie and talking sweet to me.

"My baby, all grown up. He's going on a date!" she says when Marc walks into the room.

"Did I hear that little Mr. Nathan is going on a date?" he says nudging me on the shoulder. "Who's the lucky girl?"

"Well, her name is Brianna, she technically hinted at a date, but I have been wanting one for a long time. " I say looking in the mirror.

Ethan passes by the room, but is stopped by the voice of his father. "Ethan get in here, did you hear that Nathan is going on a date?" 

"No, but I am now, who you going with?" he says, acting like he cares.

I am scared to tell him who, because I feel like she's out of my league, but I take a deep breath and tell him. "Brianna."

I notice he becomes angry and then tries not to be. "Sounds cool, have fun," and then he storms out the room.

"Well okay then, lets get you a car." my mom says.

"You can take Bernie, please take care of him!" Marc says.

Bernie is a red Chevrolet Camaro with black strips. I was surprised that he let me use his favorite car, but I guess he figured that I would want to impress Brianna with the car.

So I go to the key cabinet and look for the Bernie's keys and head out to the garage where he was at.

I get in the car and start him up.  It's only 6:25PM. Its early to pick up Brianna at her house but, it will take me at least 15 minutes to get to her house, so i'll take a pit stop at WaltMart and get her a bouquet of flowers so when I show up at her house, she gets surprised. I mean I'm romantic like that.

It took me only exactly 15 mins to get to WaltMart, and 3 mins to find the best bouquet of flowers, its 6:43 and I'm heading to her house. I'm nervous. I'm taking her to a fancy restaurant and then out the park, if she wants too.

I arrive at her house and wait for it to be 7:00. I walk towards her house and knock on the door holding the bouquet in my hands.

I wait to see if anyone answers, when I look up, the doors open and a women is standing there smiling. She opens the door and speaks to me.

"You must be Nathan!" she says.

"Yes, I am." I say smirking.

"I'm Brianna's mother, please come inside, she's still getting ready." she pauses and then yells, "Brianna! Come down! Your date is here!" She smiles at me.

"Coming!" Brianna says as she goes down the stairs.

"Wow" I say looking at her. She looks stunning.

"You look beautiful" I tell her.

She smiles and replies, "Thank you! You clean up nice as well!"

"These are for you." I hand her the flowers.

She smells them and then hands them off to her mom." They smell good, thank you. Shall we go?"

I swear, she didn't sound too excited about the flowers. That made me upset. I spent $18.96 on those flowers for a poor reaction.

We get in the car, and start talking.
"Where will you be taking me?"

"That's a surprise." I say.

"Mm, okay." she says then she leans back in the car.

She doesn't mention anything about the car as if she already been in this car because she looks so fucking comfortable in it.

"We are here." I say pulling up to the valet parking.
