My bedroom is barren except for my mattress and my flat screen T.V. My family isn't exactly rich, so I don't get to experience some of the luxuries in life that my classmates get. When the Xbox One came out, all of my friends at my high school were raging about it. About the new game, TERA. It was an Xbox One exclusive, but I couldn't afford to play it.
That is, until my sixteenth birthday, I received a package in the mail.
The sender was unknown. I took the box inside and left it on the kitchen table. I wasn't all that interested; I figured it was probably just some junk. I had to go to school, anyway. I went on with my day and I forgot about my mysterious package.
When I got home from school, I remembered it. I casually brought it into my living room and tore open the box. Needless to say, when I removed the first piece of cardboard, I was speechless.
I would recognize the Xbox One logo anywhere. It was my dream to have one.
I tore open the rest of the box anxiously. I couldn't believe it. A real Xbox One. Thinking it was a joke, I opened the package and took out a pristine white Xbox One with a gold engraving on it... The symbol for the popular MMORPG TERA. It was a TERA edition of the Xbox One... Which I didn't even know existed. It came with the game and everything.
I plugged in the game and what happened next was the most unbelievable thing ever. My room was engulfed in a bright blue light. My surroundings were digitalized and before I knew it, my body was being transferred. I was terrified. It appeared as though everything was pixelated, and then I lost consciousness.
The place I woke up in definitely wasn't Tokyo.
