The guildhall was chaos. Wizards were sitting in every available seat, some had even made themselves comfortable on the railing that lined the perimeter of the room. Movements made were rapid and quick, yet despite this, the hall remained uncharacteristically quiet. It was evident that every wizard was anxiously awaiting the Guild Master's arrival, and it was unlike him to be late.

The stage in the hall sat empty and the glances the Fairy Tail wizards shot each other we're slowly gaining vocal responses. Confusion and intrigue were slowly making their way around the room.

The wizards had been summoned to the hall by Master Laxus, Fairy Tail's newest Guild Master, in an attempt to decide which two teams would be sent to represent Fairy Tail in this year's Grand Magic Games. The nomination in itself was an honor, but to actually participate was the goal of every wizard sitting patiently.

The table in the middle was occupied by Fairy Tail's youngest group of wizards, appropriately named the Next Gen Wizards. Heads of pink, blonde, red and blue were spread around the table, idly staring at the individual sitting directly across from them. Thumb twiddling, foot-tapping, and leg shaking were their primary method of passing the time.

Gale, a metal molding magic-user, glanced to the right. He gently nudged the blonde girl next to him to get her attention.

"Hey, Nova, where on Earth is your father?" His words were hushed and spoken under his breath, not wanting others to listen in.

"If I knew I would have informed everyone, Gale." She hissed back in a low voice to match the metal molder's.

Gale looked as if he were about to speak, but decided against it.

The guild hall's wooden doors opened quickly, letting a monstrous creek escape from the hinges. There stood Master Laxus, taking up a considerable amount of the doorway with his tall, bulky stature. Light was pouring in and cast a shadow across the front of his body. He took a step forward and the doors slowly closed behind him- this time moving in silence.

After a quick scan of the room and mentally taking attendance Master Laxus walked through the guildhall and took his place on the stage. A new member offered him the microphone from the stage's edge, but the master declines. Everyone would remain quiet while Laxus was speaking to the guild because there was no one who wished to defy him and feel his wrath as a punishment.

Laxus cleared his throat with a forced cough and spoke.

"I'm sure you know why you are all gathered here today. The Grand Magic Games will be upon us shortly and it's time to decide what teams we'd like to send to represent us. Any suggestions."

The wizards jumped to life, shouting names in all directions and to no one in particular. The usual names were thrown around. Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, and Erza were suggested year after year, and this year proved to be no different.

A single hand shot up above the heads of the guild members. All eyes turned to the owner of the frail hand. A white-haired she-demon. Mirajane. She waited to be acknowledged by the Guild Master, her husband. After all the incomprehensible yelling and commotion ceased, Laxus locked eyes with her.

"Yes, dear?"

"I believe we should send someone else. Someone new."

"We currently don't have any new applicants strong enough to send off."

"That's not what I meant, Laxus. Every year we send the same people to fight, and we've proven to Fiore Fairy Tail possesses a strong team, but we need to show them why we stay on top."

"And why is that?"

"It's because we continually produce stronger wizards and teams. We aren't simply ruled by one team, and we should let Fiore know that."

"Who are you suggesting we send then?"

"I suggest we send the New Gen Wizards. I believe they are more than capable."

In an instant, every head around the New Gen table shot up. Their eyes wondered as they were desperately searching for confirmation on what they just heard. Nods from several wizards seated near them confirmed the dream and made it a reality. Some New Gen wizards flashed a sly smile, enjoying the idea of fighting for all of Fiore, others tried to hide their shock and wide eyes.

"As do I."
