She stalked lowly in the bushes of the woods. She stepped softly that even a twig didn't snap beneath her. Her eyes darted to the right as the faintest snap was heard near her. She knew another trial entry was near, the fielding for the trial was so small there was huge possibility she would run into another. She quickened her pace but still kept a light foot, getting closer and closer to the target; a wounded Bear. The bear, a deer, and small game rabbits were the last rewards in the trial field.

She took a deep breath and steadied herself. She slowly grabbed an arrow from her quiver and placed it correctly in the bow. This arrow would only surprise and stun the bear, not kill it. Giving her time to jump in and strike the bear. But she had to do this before the other did. She pulled the bow up to place and took one last deep breath.

She was ready to let go as she stared straight at the bear. She heard the snaps of someone running closeby. She darted her eyes to the right, realizing her mistake after looking back to the bear. She gasped inaudibly and didn't move. The bears dark brown eyes stared into hers. Slight fear entered her mind and thoughts. She caught a small scream in her teeth, she couldn't make a noise and risk a winning game and a bear attacking her.

She lowered the bow cautiously and shifted slightly. The bear stared right past her but in her direction. She sighed as she realized that the bear knew something was there but not her in particular. An upcoming assassin human and a rabbit are two different things but can both be devoured easily by a bear.

She crossed her legs to move over and pulled up the bow again. Ready to fire this time. She waited a moment for a slight movement of the other but nothing came. They either realized they hadn't a chance with the bear while she was there, she was the #1 trial entry at the moment. And she has been every time.

She smiled slightly, happy she had this to herself. She let the arrow fly and shot the bear in side. The bear moaned in pain and fell the its side. It struggled helplessly to its feet, succeeding few times. She laughed quietly, she had this one for sure she thought. But right as she leaped out of the wood brush her arm was snatched back.

" Ah!" Mirajane screamed. The bear snapped his head up, weakly lowering it again but still having an evil look in its eye.

"Hey you're not the only one after this bear you know." Maykel, a trial entry, said still holding her arm. She stood up and yanked her arm back.

"Yeah but I shot the bear down. Now if you'll please excuse me I need to get MY game." She said harshly. She glared up at him. She stood for a moment just looking into his devious but alluring brown eyes. His face softened and he smirked slightly at her. He ran a hand through his ruffled light brown hair. He stood boldly and looked rather built for a teenager. The age range for the trial was 13-18 and he had to be 17 or 18.

After a while Mirajane realized what he was doing and squinted her eyes and thinned her lips.

" I know what you're trying to do, so stop it." She said bluntly. He looked stunned and stepped back.

"And what is that I may ask?" He says annoyed.

" You're gonna try and use some charm that you use on every other girl. I've seen you do it. You get them to fall for you then leave them and move to another. " She says even more annoyed with his ways. He scoffed and turned around, raising his hand in a farewell.

" well now that you know my plan," he says sarcastically, " guess you can have your game." Mirajane nods and freezes as she feels a deep moist breathe down her neck. Maykel started to walk away.

        "Don't move." She said quietly.

" Oh so now you're telling me wha-" he started.

" Run fast or don't move." She snapped. He growled under his breath and started to turn back around.

" Ugh, you just don't want to listen douchebag huh?" She said rudely. Mirajane  leaped forward and got an arrow ready in her bow. She pushed him back to the ground and snapped around and the ferocious bear leaped into the air to pounce. He growled as she saw the arrow still poking out of its side. She let the arrow free and it got him in the face. It made a squealing noise and fell to its side again. It moaned and pawed at its face while lying on the ground.

Mirajane angrily stood up and walked to the injured bear and finished it off for her own game. She turned her head to Maykel still startled on the ground. She rolled her eyes and pulled at the bears arm to drag it.

" Fairly light..." She mumbled to herself. She started walking back towards the mainfield dragging the slain bear. Maykel lifted himself up with one arm.

" So you're just going to go back to the main field like that...." He asks  breathing heavily.

"Look...just because I pushed you out of the way from a bear doesn't mean anything. I killed the bear, that's all that matters. I could've very well moved out of the way and let the bear kill you for all I care." She looked back to the bear and kept pulling it.

"Hm, you must not have good experiences with people...or socializing." He says standing and easily catching up to her heaving along the bear.

" I...," she started, thinking back to when she was happy around people until it changed with the death of her sister, " I just have no need of others. Others cheat, and lie, and are stupid. What's the point? I don't want a chance of becoming like that."

" Are you sure you're not talking about the brutes?" He said reaching a hand towards the bear.

" yes and no. The brutes are similar to us in fact. Why wouldn't they? Now please...go fine some other game while I take this back." She said annoyed. She was making little progress but she didn't mind, it was hers and she had branded it with her special mark. Every entry had a different mark for branding whenever the killed game.

" Hm. You need some help with that?" He asks nicely but Mirajane was not trying to fall for his usual games.

" No. " Is all she said. She didn't want to spark any sort of conversation. She wanted him to leave. Somewhere deep in her she wanted him to help her and no longer be a player. She wanted to be a gentleman and nice and not just doing it for the fun of it.

"Yeah but you look like you're struggling." He said persistently.

" Well I'm trying to look like I don't want you to keep asking me these things and that I do want you to leave me alone!" She said angrily, dropping the bear arm and staring deep into his eyes. She growled under her breath and frowned as best she could. He grabbed her chin with his hand and smirked leaning forward.

" Why you-" Mirajane started, reaching her fist up. She struck his jaw and he fell back. She growled again and walked back to her game, grabbing the bear arm.

" Hey! I wasn't doing anything wrong!" Maykel protested, rubbing the bruise now on his jaw.

" You tried to kiss me, I'm no fool!" She said scowling in the other direction. She was having better success this time in dragging the bear. When she gets angry she tends to try harder and almost get stronger.

Mirajane continued in the woods on her way to the main field. Maykel sat on the ground smiling, thinking about Mirajane as she walked away. He laughed to himself thinking that for once he was actually starting to like someone.

" Stupid people....and idiotic boys. Oh my lord why am I here specifically... With them?" Mirajane murmered to herself. ~~~~~
