I shivered. His grey eyes boring into mine, lifeless. I cried and screamed in agony but no one came to help. He laid there with his mouth hung wide open holding onto my hand. I shook him, "Vince. Vince, please wake up. Don't leave me, Vince." My hands trembled as blood dripped down from them. My body violently shook.

I placed my head on his warm chest and listened to his lifeless heart as mine quickly shattered apart. I clung onto his stained shirt and screamed. There was nothing I could do. I couldn't bring him back as much as I wanted to. He was gone. Vince was gone and there was nothing I could do. Tears rolled down my puffy, swollen cheeks and onto the pavement.

"Who did this to you?" I mumbled as I tried to search his face for an answer. I caressed his cheek once more before planting a soft kiss on his cold lips.

I could hear the ambulance coming. It didn't matter. They couldn't help Vince. I couldn't help him. I wiped my tears and looked up as they neared. Their headlights blinding my vision.I shut my eyes and opened them gazing at the wet pavement now glowing in red and blue.

"RUN, RUUUNNN!" I heard Vince's voice yell in my head.

'What?', I thought to myself before I was interrupted by his harsh voice again.

"RUUUUN! RUN, NOW!", he yelled.

Abruptly I got up, fumbling with my feet as I ran down the street. My boots splashing on every puddle I landed on.

The sirens blared, deafening me as I lost balance and fell to the ground.

"I can't do this. I can't." I whimpered, but as soon as the words left my mouth a thought came into my head.

I need justice for what was done to Vince.

And with that in mind I got up and sprinted down the street, passing a green sign that I would never be able to forget even if I wanted to.

Elm Street.
