Chapter 3

// Im so sorry for the late update! Hopefully this chapter will do for now because im really busy with my senior year at school :) //

Irina's POV

"Karasumaaa, come here and be a dear to help me with this pleasee" I called out to him to help me set up the table.

I saw the cupboard with the plates is to high so I grabbed a stool I found somewhere. Successfully standing on my tippy toes to reach the plates, all of a sudden I feel the stool starts to wobble.

I heard Karasuma's footsteps coming into the kitchen "What do you wan-"

"LOOK OUT!!" I yelled as I shut my eyes, waiting for the impact. But it never came. Slowly I peeked my eyes open, only to find myself lost into such beautiful pair of raven coloured eyes.

"Are you okay?" His tone of worry and his muscular arm warped around me made the currents in my body go haywire.

"Uh,Uhm..Heh yeah im fffine" i stuttered. Damn it damn it damn iitt!! Why am i stuttering? Turn on your charm Irina for goodness sake!!!. He helped me up to my feet. "Do you need me to set up the table?" He asked. Still speechless, i just nod at him.

He went inside as I tried to calm my beating heart. After i had composed myself i took the finished Carbonara and a bottle of white wine into the dining room.

When we sat at the table and dug into the food, i tried to start up a conversation.

"Sooo, how does it taste? Good?" I cheekily asked.

He nods. "Mhmm"

Is it possible for someone stoic-faced to look so adorable? I can't help but feel that this atmosphere is so nice. I wonder if this is how marriage life is. Then all of a sudden I feel my cheeks starting to burn from the thought and abruptly stood up. Karasuma looked up at me, puzzled.

"Whash ta mafta wifsh yuu?" He asked effortlessly cute with his mouth stuffed with food.

Oh sh*t i feel a nosebleed coming someone call help.

"N-n-n-n-nothing. Im fine. Fine. Yeah im fine. What im fine. Yeah" I squeaked at the end. "Sorry i'm going to excuse myself for a bit."

He nods and continue enjoying his food. His Adam's apple bobbing up and down, his eyes trained on finishing the food slowly, no doubt trying to absorb it's deliciousness, and his lips, oh god his kissable lips smac-

OK OK STOP IRINA THIS IS NOT YOU

I gulped again at the sight. He is sooo delectable. I scurried off before any dirty thoughts start to consume me and possess me to do something stupid.

I entered the the nearest washroom and screamed internally, releasing my frustration over my coward self and his dense personality.

The next day

Karasuma's POV

What is taking this woman so long? How long exactly do you need to get ready for the first day of work? I have been waiting for 1 hour and she still hasn't come out of her room. I found her a job as one of the members under my command. And now she's going to be late for first day.

"Hey Irina hurry up will you?! Or else i'll leave you and you have to use the bus to get to the ministry building!" I shouted while looking at my watch.

I heard light footsteps coming near and sighed, "finally what on earth took you so l-"

My eyes widened as i looked up and took in her appearence. She has her hair in ringlets and wore almost the same clothes when she was a teacher but a little more conservative since she is wearing a longer pencil skirt. But the thing that took my breath away is how big and round her sparkling sky blue eyes are.

She looks breathtakingly divine.

I averted my eyes and snapped out of it. Its her charm at work. She used to seduce people. I should not be affected. Its just not professional. I scolded myself.

"Umm, how do I look?" She asked timidly. Her expression filled with expectations.

"Y-you look fine."i breathed out, still avoiding her gaze.

"Oh. Ok thanks." She sighed heavily.

I nod. "Shall we go?"

"Yeah lets go." She smiled half-heartedly.
