CHAPTER ONE
Why me? That was just one of the many questions running through my head. Nikola always manages to send me on the wild goose chases! I rambled on in my mind as I pressed the pedal harder onto the floor of the car, the pearly black BMW that Nikola had borrowed me for the hunt lurked forward slightly.
My tight dress hiked further up my leg and I grumbled, the black skimpy thing clung to my every muscle and left absolutely nothing to the imagination. I pulled up to the nightclub and I could already feel the vibrating music thumping threw my body as I parked and jumped out into the darkness. I watched as a couple fell threw the doors and into the park, their lips locked in a drunken kiss as they fumbled with each other towards an unsuspecting car.
My lips quirked as I headed towards the unruly Club Bite. The name flashed in neon blue above the door and I hid my eyes from the brightness before I plunged into the dark and noisy hole at the bottom of the set of stairs.
My eyes caught a glimpse of a pale body and a zap of supernatural energy as it bustled past me and back towards the stairs behind me, I smiled and fist pumped the air mentally as I turned on my heel and followed the fellow out of the main doors I had just entered through.
"Can you help me, Sir?" I caught a hold of his forearm and he whizzed around to face me. His pale face and dark hair contrasted beautifully and a flirtatious smirk plastered onto my lips. He smiled when his eyes took in my attire and my smirk widened.
"Anything for a beautiful woman like yourself." He fully turned now and I glanced at him up and down. He was a pretty one; all of them were of course but this one more than others.
Vampires.
The Turner's had all inherited the legacy of becoming vampire hunters. In addition, I was the newest hunter in the elite group; most of them being a branch from the immediate family, but some of them were not even blood descendants and chose to live the life of a hunter. If I had a choice, I don't think I would've chosen this as a life job. I turned my attnetion back to the vampire in front of me and plastered my smile back in place.
"I was hoping you could point me in the right direction for a hotel or something for the night. None of the other patrions have been very, well hospitable. Unlike yourself, Sir." I played the smirk and I could see his eyes darken with lust. I loved my job on occasions like this when you get to stake the bad guy but the paper work you have to fill out afterwards just ruins it.
"Of course little lady, I could drop you off at one not too far down the road. I passed it on the way here earlier in the night." He smiled and flashed a fang, if I wasn't a hunter and hadn't been doing this job for the past two months of my life, I wouldn't have noticed the inhumanly long canines but I was acutely aware of them at this very point in time. Pun intended.
"That would be very kind of you actually." I accepted willingly and his pupils widened in excitement as he clasped a hand over my shoulder and lead me to his car parked not five cars away from my, well Nikola's BMW. I smirked at the irony, "You don't live around here, your accent isn't right. Where're you from?" I asked nonchalantly as I stepped into his sleek black car I wasn't too interested in it unlike the rest of the women walking past and gawking at it.
He smirked at me from the driver's side, "I'm actually from Australia but I moved here about four years ago, I would've thought the accent was gone by now." He mentioned as he pulled out of the parking lot and onto a dark road. How cliché?
