Chapter 2

•••••Journey's POV•••••

Skye snapped her fingers in front of my face trying to get me to snap out of it.

"Sorry." I whispered to her.

Spencer looked amused and laughed a little.

"Someone's in love." She teased me.

I rolled my eyes and pulled my phone out of my pocket to text my best guy friend, Michael.

To: Michael Anderson:

'omg new kid today! he's actually pretty cute tho :b'

I sent him the text and waited for his reply.

To: Journey Knight:

'aha I guess I'll have to see for myself ;) :P'

To: Michael Anderson:

'ohmygod, ew'

To: Journey Knight:

'lol well I g2g text ya or see ya laturr."

I turned off my phone and put it back in my pocket. I lift my head up and to my surprise everyone was already in class.

The bell rang and history class started.

Someone, please help me.

•••••After History Class•••••

"Hey so what do you wanna do? Skip class or go to French class?" Skye asked me after we left history.

"I dunno. French isn't that bad but I mean skipping is fun."

"Skipping class it is."

We walked over to the cafeteria and sat down on one of the long wooden tables.

"Excuse me, but what class do you have right now?" A teacher asked us.

"Free period." Skye replied.

"Oh okay great, I just wanted to make sure you girls aren't skipping class." And then he turned and walked away.

"So, you interested in Spencer?" Skye asked me.

"Oh look, there's Michael!" I said changing the subject.

"ANDERSON!" I called over to him.

Him and all the other guys at the table turned their heads toward me and Skye's table.

"Look, Spencer's there!" She whispered.

"Shut up!" I whispered back.

I beckoned for Michael to come over and so he did.

"Hey girls."

"Heyy." We both replied.

"I heard from Spence that you have a crush on him, J." He said to me wiggling his eyebrows.

"Oh my god! Will you guys ever shut up!"

They both laughed and that got me more annoyed.

"Well he's actually a pretty cool guy." Michael admitted.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, if you want, I could get you guys to meet or something."

"Seriously?! Michael! You'd do that for me?! Thank you!"

"Anything for my best friend."

I got up from my seat and gave him a big hug and he kissed me on the forehead like we always do. If anyone saw us and didn't know we were such close friends, they'd definitely think we're dating.

Michael walked back over to the table where he used to be sitting and came back with Spencer.

I looked over to Skye and she must've noticed me panicking a little.

"Don't worry, you'll do fine." She whispered in my ear.

I looked over at her, smiled and mouthed 'thanks'.

Spencer and Michael got to our table and sat down across Skye and I.

We talked and talked and we found out a lot about Spencer, like he comes from Alberta, his parents are divorced, his last name is Vallone, he has two older brothers, one who's 19 years old (Nick) and the other is 22 (Lucas), he plays hockey... etc.

Eventually, we ended up on the topic of dating.

"So, you got a girlfriend?" Michael asked him.

"Nah, haven't got the time lately." He replied.

I glanced over to Skye and she was wiggling her eyebrows at me.

"But how come you guys ain't sitting beside each other?" He asked me and Michael.

"Me? And Michael?" I scoffed. "No, we're not dating, we're just best friends." I told him.

"But you guys were like, romantically hugging and like-"

"Best friend thing." Michael said cutting him off.

"Ah." Spencer said while nodding his head.

We kept on talking and eventually the bell rang signalling 5 minutes before the next class starts.

"Skip or no?" I asked Skye.

"No, it's free period."

I laughed and sat back down at the table.

"What classes do you guys have?" I asked Michael and Spencer.

"We have the same classes." Spencer pointed out.

"True. What about you, Anderson?" I asked Michael.

"I dunno. But I don't care, I'm skipping again."

I laughed, that was such an Anderson move. His two older brothers always did the same thing but now, since they've booth been to university, they take everything a lot more seriously. The only reason they can all get away with it is because they're parents aren't home and because of that, they're parents don't get the calls from the school.

"So, what do you guys want to do?" Michael asked.

"Well, since we already told some of the teachers that we already had free period, I say we go to the plaza of something." I suggested

"Yeah." Everyone agreed.

We walked out of the cafeteria and towards one of the many exits at this school.

We cruised over to the street we have to cross to get to the plaza, and all held hands and stood in a straight horizontal line.

"Ready guys?" I asked.

"On three!" Skye shouted over the traffic.

"One!" I yelled.

"Two!" Spencer yelled and looked over at me, smiling.

"Three!" We all yelled and bolted across the busy street.
