"Mrs. Alsina you have breast cancer"
I just stared at my doctor with blank expression
"Ok doctor is it really bad" August asked
"All cancer is bad, but we caught it just in time. We will need to have surgery Friday morning"
"Ok thank you doctor" August told the doctor while I still sat there shocked as ever
"Baby you OK?"
"August I have cancer. I sat there n cried n cried in his arms.
August's POV
I was tryna hold back the tears of what I just heard.
"August. Call everyone, but don't tell them. We are going to have a big dinner tonight. Like a family. Tell them that I an announcement"
"Ok baby"
I stepped out n called everyone telling them to come over for dinner.
Dinner time
Everyone was here n we were all here about to eat.
"August baby can you say grace please" Lauren asked n I shook my head yes.
"Ok everyone gather hands n bow your heads."
Everyone did as told.
"Dear lord I want you to do me favor, a special favor tonight. I want you to watch over each n every person sitting at this table. Especially one in particular. I want you to bless this family with a little bit of everything. N bless over the food. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen"
"Amen" everyone said in unison.
"Alright start digging in" Lauren said with a big smile on her face.
Everyone started passing the food around.
"Ma you really put ya foot in this mac&cheese" Aj said.
"Thank you baby"
"Ight ma what's this big announcement"
Lauren stood up.
"Ummmm welllll since we are all here. Well I recently went to the doctor n they found a lump in my breast. Meaning I have breast cancer n my surgery is tomorrow"
Everyone was slient.
I heard sniffles here n there.
Lauren looked at everybody n left upstairs.
"How could she not tell us sooner" Aaliyah asked.
"Cuz we just found out yesterday" I told her.
"We? Tf so why you ain't say shit" Aj yelled
"Aj? Calm down baby"
"First off lower yo mutha fucking voice in my damn house"
"Stop all this damn yelling" Lauren said walking back down the stairs.
"Now Aj watch who tf u talking to. N SIT TF DOWN BEFORE I SLAP TF OUTTA YOU"
"Yes ma'am"
"Thank you. Now I told MY husband n YOUR father to gather everyone here. I wanted to tell yall myself. All I ask from each n every one of you is to pray for me n be there for me tomorrow. Can you please do that?"
