The Moods.
In ancient Greece, there were the 7 Moods. Happiness, Anger, Frustration, Sadness, Jealousy, Nervousness, and Fear.
The Moods lived on Mount Olympus with the Gods. The Moods and the Gods did not get along well. You see, the Moods were only capable of one mood. This the Gods could not understand, because they were able to become so many different things and emotions, they were confused at the thought of only being able to do one thing forever. The two groups had many arguments on this and other subjects.
One day thousands of years ago, the Gods and the Moods had a great argument. One that could be heard throughout all of the world. This argument was worse than any previous one. This one was different because earlier that day, Anger and Frustration had had another argument and broken the box where the deadliest of all of the universes demons. This demon escaped and had captured Hera, queen of the Gods. Zeus was furious, he jumped at Anger mid argument and tried to strangle him. Thankfully, before any damage could be done, Athena stepped in.
"Why do we argue and fight when our fellow god is in danger?" she reasoned, "We should be out finding Hera, not fighting like children."
The others agreed and they set off to find Hera. The Moods went south and the Gods north. Hours later when they had still not found Hera and it had grown dark outside, the Gods heard the Moods race towards them.
"What has happened?" asked Hephaestus, "Have you found Hera?"
"No." Sadness said grimly.
"But we know where she is!" exclaimed Happiness,"The demon has taken her to the stars where only the Gods and Moods together can save her!"
"Oh my," said Demeter,"We must set out immediately to help her."
And so, the Gods and the Moods set off together to get Hera from the evil clutches of the demon.
On the journey through the stars and the night sky, Nervousness burst into tears. With tears streaming down her face, she exclaimed,
"What if we cannot save her?"with tears streaming down her face she continued to worry,"What if she has already been tortured and killed and the is no hope left to save her? What then? We cannot live without a queen to rule!"
"But do not think of the negative," reasoned Relaxation,"think positive thoughts and stay calm. We will handle whatever the outcome is with dignity and mourn over what is lost."
Nervousness calmed down a little but being unable to be more than one mood, was still nervous.
After another hour of worrying and traveling the Gods and Moods reached the cage in which an unconscious and drugged Hera lay.
The demon had not noticed Hera's saviors approach him. The Gods were the first to reach him. They grabbed his shoulders and spun him around but at the sight of him, they all fell to the ground unconscious.
"What have you done to them?!" screamed Fear.
"They have been knocked unconscious by my shear ugliness,"growled the demon,"These gods only care about beauty. They do not care about anything with pockmarks, warts, wrinkles or fat. They cannot accept someone different from their beautiful world."
The Moods realized that since they were only capable of one thing, they could not feel hatred or disgust.
Then, quickly before the demon could realize what was happening, they attacked and cut of his hands and feet do he could not escape.
They then rescued Hera and the others and layed them down on a nearby star while the Moods locked the demon in the cage that had held Hera only moments earlier.
When the Gods awoke, they realized what had happened and that the Moods had saved them.
After the Gods had all thanked the Moods, Zeus gave their saviors a job in the stars.
The Moods were to keep the demon at bay in the sky by surrounding his cage with seven pointed starlight the Moods as the points to create a barrier around him.
But now, whenever the demon rattles his cage, one of the Moods must step in and put him to sleep.
This star barrier is shaped inside the heart of everyone of the mortals on earth, as we each have a demon inside us that must be controlled by a mood so we do not kill at random and capture innocent people like Hera.
