The Lucky Ones (One Direction Fanfic)

I wake up to the sound of rain drumming on the tent, Liam and I went camping this weekend, we thought it'd be a fun thing for the two of us to do together.

"Morning Desi" Liam says and kisses me on forehead.

Me and Liam have been dating for two months now, he's the best boyfriend I’ve ever had, and I’ve only had one other boyfriend. But then the incident happened... I don't quite feel like telling that crazy story, I’ll save that for another time.

"Morning Li" I say.

Since today was the last day of camping, we packed up all of our stuff and headed back in the direction of the flat.

But since we left before we ate, we stopped and to get a bagel and coffee, well I didn't get coffee. I never really liked coffee, I’m more of a tea person.

When we arrive back at the flat the boys are all sitting on the couch watching a movie, but pause it and come to the doorway.

"Hey, the lovebirds are back." Louis smirks.

I roll my eyes. "Hey Lou."

“How was the camping?” Harry asks, walking towards us.

“It was lots of fun.” I say.

“Did you use protection?” Harry wiggles his eyebrows.

“Ew! Harry!” I laugh and run upstairs to put my stuff away.

Me, Liam and the boys all live in the flat together. There are six bedrooms, one for Louis, one for Harry, one for Niall, one for Zayn, one Liam which I share with him, and a guest bedroom. When my best friend Katie comes to stay she sleeps there.

I love when Katie comes to stay here, I mean I do love the boys, but it’s nice having another girl in the house! Suddenly, my phone rings.

I look at the caller ID; Mikayla. Why is my boss calling me?

"Hello?" I answer the phone.

"Hi Desiree, can you come into work today?" My boss asks.

"I thought I remembered to book today off?" I say.

"I know, but we need someone to train the new employee, and Rebecca is off sick." She says.

"Fine, i'll be there in fifteen minutes." 

"Thanks Desiree!" Mikayla says.

"Bye." I say and hang up the phone.

I quickly go and change out of my camping clothes and into my black stretchy pants and my uniform shirt.

Since I don't time to do much with my hair, I just brush it and quickly apply some mascara and light eye shadow.

I hurry down the stairs and grab my tea from earlier, which is cold now, great.

"I thought you booked today off work?" Liam asks, seeing me in my outfit for work.

"Yeah, but Mikayla called me and asked me to come in and train the new employee because Rebecca is sick. AGAIN!" I explain.

"Wasn't she sick last week, and you had to take her shift then too?" 

"Yeah, that girl gets sick way too much. I gotta go, bye Li!" I kiss him on the cheek and go out the door to walk to work. But I grab an umbrella since it's still raining. The great thing about living so close to work, is that I have time to walk there.

I work at the pet shop that's part of a plaza near the beach. It's nice during the summer because in the back room there's a window and you can see the beach.
