Dear Baby J,

Hindi ko inakala na ang paksang production at consumption ay maging isang dahilan upang mabuksan ko ang aking mga mata sa realidad at paano talaga tumatakbo ang business world. I thought it will just be going to be a discussion between satisfaction, kinds of consumption, computations of production costs which really gave me a reason to cry last Thursday (hahaha kidding though) and course their implications and applications in real life. But as we went through sa aming discussion and watched a video last Friday, may mga binatawang mga salita na naman si Sir HMT na para bang inilalarawan ang aking sarili at mga tanong na laging tumatakbo sa aking isipan at may natutunan na naman ako. Una, ang sabi niya, "All of us want to know our value." Yeah righ! sa labinlimang taong paninirahan ko sa mundong ito, katulad ng paghahanap ko sa valueng X sa Math Class namin everyday, na minsang ang hirap hanapin at nakakapagod din namang hanapin, ay hinahanap ko rin ang value ko sa aking sarili at sa ibang tao. Ang hirap kasi iyong sitwasayon na may value ang isang tao/bagay sa'yo pero wala ka naman palang halaga para sa kanya. Ang hirap at masakit isipin na kung sino pa ang may value para sa iyo ito pa ang mawawala. Sabi nga naman sa kanta na "The Man on the wire" ng The script "Who would have thought about the cause and effects" Sino nga ba ang inakala na ang taong mahal nila, na may malaking value sa kanila, na nagbibigay ilaw sa kanilang buhay, ang pag-ibig na nagpapasaya sa kanila ay siya naman pa lang dahilan para masktan at malungkot ka ngayon? Di ba wala? Tama nga ang the Script hahaha katulad ko siguro Baby J, maybe I was made to be broken hindi ko lang talaga inakala na siya pala ang maging dahilan kung bakit ako  masasaktan. Oh Char humuhugot na naman ako haha.  Ito nga naman si "value" oh! Humuhugot na ako baby J Hahaha. Pero seriously, sabi talaga sa amin ni Sir baby j na "We are living in a time that we struggle to find our value" Ito talaga si Sir walang binibitawang mga salita na hindi ako pinapacontemplate. Indeed, ang hirap talagang alamin kung ano ang value natin sa ibang tao. Basta ako Baby J, may value ka sa akin (Hahahaweee) Pangalawa, We need to be really grateful at contented sa mga bagay that we consume. Because in production, there are things that were planned obsolescence which means that they're designed to be dumped. Am I a planned obsolence for him Baby J? Kasi iniwan niya lang ako na parang walang value sa kanya? #hugot101 hahaha. Also in production, if there were things designed to be dumped may mga bagay din naman na perceived obsolescence, meaning even if it's still useful you still want to purchase a better model/thing. Example, some people wan to have Iphone 6 even if their Iphone 5s is still functioning or still in good condition because the fact that Iphone 6 will definitely be the new trend. We want to have it not because we need it.People do this because of their own reasons. It may be for satisfaction or to impress other people. No matter what their reasons are, they still need to put into their heads that we need to choose wisely in everything we want to purchase, weigh if it is important because the fact that scarcity is present, our natural resources ay unti unti nang nauubos, but also because everything has cost which leads me to the 3rd thing that Sir HMT had said, "the comfort we are enjoying today is the sacrifice of someone to let us be satisfied." Yes, we are indeed satisfied because of what these things brought to us but we need to understand that because of these benefits, the cost is some people are working hard for these things or even worked overtime just to fulfill their quota or the JIT Manufacturing just to have a full salary. At ang huli sa lahat, we don't only need to choose the things that's important but also we need to make sure that it will be a productive consumption because making sure that it will be a productive consumption it will also lead us to choose things that would really satisfy us for long. Because in consumption, the question is not "Are you happy?" but the real question is "Yes, you're happy but for how long?" Ito talagang si Economics Baby J oh! akala ko napakasimple mo lang hindi pala! But despite sa lahat ng nosebleed at headache na binibigay mo sa akin dahil sa lahat ng terms at dami ng formulas mo hindi ko pa rin maiitanggi na because of you my life has change, thank you for the full insights you bring.
