chapter 7 - Craig

I woke up under Austins huge bicep. I slowly got out of his grip. I walked into the bathroom to fix myself before he woke up. I was thinking about Austin. I didn't really know much about him. And he really didn't know much about me. Maybe today we could just spend the day getting to know each other.

I walked out of the bathroom to see Austin sitting up and smiling.

"Morning."

God he has a sexy morning voice.

"Hi."

He let out a small giggle and pulled me onto the bed.

"So what do you want to do today?"
"I was thinking. We don't know much about each other. Maybe we could spend the day just learning about each other..?"

He hugged me tight.

"That sounds perfect."


I walked into my closet and changed into my black Brandy Melville shirt and dark wash shorts. I threw my hair into a top knot. I didn't bother to put on make up since we weren't going anywhere fancy.

I came out of the closet and saw Austin standing there smiling.

"You look pretty."
"Thanks" I blushed.
"Ready?"
"Yep."

I grabbed my purse and sun glasses off the table and walked out the front door. My brothers were sleeping off their night so i just texted them saying I was going to be out all day.

"So where to?" he asked leaving it all up to me.
"How about the park? We can get ice cream and sit at the tables."
"Sounds good."


He ordered us ice cream and we sat down.

"So I asked some questions last night. Now it's your turn."
"Okay um where were you born?"
"Here in San Antonio."
"What made you want to be famous?"
"I didn't do it to become famous. I actually was just really bored."
"Really?"
"Yep."
"Have you ever been in love before?"
"No. I mean I had a girlfriend before. But I wasn't feeling it."
"Hmm."
"Have you?"
"I thought I was."
"What happened?"
"He um.. Smashed my face into the refrigerator."

He sat there with his mouth open. Pure shock. I just kind of nodded.

"Wh-Wh-Why?"
"We were arguing and I just kept pushing and pushing and he snapped."
"That doesn't mean he gets to put his hands on you."
"I mean it was my fa-"
"No it wasn't."
"Still."
"Is that why your brothers are so protective?"
"Yep. I haven't been with anybody since."
"When was it?"
"We were 15."
"That's terrible."
"Yeah."
"I will never do that to you." he said grabbing my hand.

I smiled softly.

"So it's just you and your mom?"
"Yeah. My dad died when I was like 2 so I don't remember him.
"Aw I'm sorry."
"I didn't reall know him so it's okay."
"Well you ask some questions."
"Who was your ex?"
"This kid John Marcelli."
"Does he live here?"
"No we lived in New York. And after the whole thing we moved out here."
"Well that's good."
"I guess."
"Whens your birthday?
"July 3rd."
"That's next weekend.."
"Yep. Whens yours?"
"April 4th."
"I'm older than you." I giggled.
"Shut up." he blushed.

"Isn't Alex's birthday right after yours? The 5th. Right?"
"Yeah."
"So you want to go walk around the mall?"

Gosh I haven't been there in years. I mainly online shopped to avoid people.

"Sure."

I picked up my purse and walked to his car.

When we got to the mall we were getting looks from a lot of people. Austin didn't even notice. I hear whispers as we would pass people. Finally a girl a bit younger than us walked up to us with her friends standing back a few feet giggling.

"Excuse me but would you mind taking a picture with us?" she asked looking at Austin.
"Of course!"

The girls all handed me their phones and Austin was just snickering at me.

He was talking to the for a minute or two when one of them blurted out,

"Are you guys going out?"
"Maybe." he said blushing.

They looked at me and I nervously smiled.

"Well we will catch up to you guys later." Austin said giving them all hugs.

He looked at me. I started laughing.

"What?"
"I-Your-I don't know."
"C'mon." he said putting out his hand.

I took it and we walked around a lot. People came up to Austin all day. It kind of got annoying but it made him smile so I guess it was cool.

We went back to Alex's and we were just kind of relaxing.

"Ustream?" Austin asked.
"YEEAAH!" Alex yelled.

I guess that was okay. They sat me in the middle of them. I felt awkward.

"Hey what's up guys? I'm here in Texas visiting. So we decided to to a Ustream for old time sake."
"This is Keller. The new edition to our fammmmmm!!"
"Hi."

"Keller's pretty." Austin read.

I laughed.

"Yes she is!" Austin replied looking at me.
"Stop oh my gosh."

"Are Austin and Keller dating?" Alex read looking at us.
"Yes." Austin said shyly.



I smiled nervously. There we a couple back offs and such but most were kind.

"Keller what are you social medias?" Austin read.
"Well. Instagram is @kellerfranco , twitter is @kellerfranco , and yeah."
"GO FOLLOW HER!" Alex yelled."

We signed off and Austin walked me home. I saw my moms car. She was home early. Oh boy.

"Well I will call you tomorrow." I said kissing Austin on the cheek.
"Bye!"

I walked up to the door and unlocked it. I turned to see Austin waiting for me to get inside so I waved and closed the door.

"KELLER ANNE FRANCO!" Craig yelled."

I hate him. He is one of the top reasons I'm moving out. My mom wasn't home. Just Craig.

"What?" I spat.
"Where were you all day?"
"The mall."
"You never go anywhere and now suddenly because you have a boyfriend you go everywhere."
"You know.. You're not my dad. So I don't need to talk to you."

I tried to walk away but he grabbed my arm. He grit his teeth and shook me.

"YOU RESPECT ME!" he slapped my face.
"GET OFF ME!"
"NOT UNTIL YOU APOLOGIZE." he slapped me again

Marty came in and push Craig against the wall and I fell. I started to cry.

"DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH MY FUCKING SISTER AGAIN!"
"Tell her to loose the attitude."
"YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID? DON'T TOUCH HER OR YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM! YOU GOT ME?"

Craig didn't say anything so Marty let him go and Craig grabbed the keys and left.

Marty bent down to me. I was shaking. He pulled me into a hug.

"Go to Alex's. He'll come back and I'm not going to be here. Just 6 more days. And you don't ever have to come back."

I kissed his cheek and walked to my room to pack a bag. I called Alex.

"Hey you okay?"
"Can I stay with you tonight?" I said holding back tears.
"Yeah yeah you need us to get you?"
"No I can drive."
"We'll meet you outside."

I hung up and grabbed my car keys and left.

I pulled up at Alex's to see him and Austin sitting on the porch. Austin shot up and ran to my door.

"What happened?"
"I'll tell you inside."
"What happened to your face?" he asked concerned.
"Man she'll tell us inside." Alex interjected.

Austin grabbed my bag for me and guided me into the house. I hugged Alex and we walked straight to the basement.

"I came home and Craig freaked out on me. He smacked me around a bit and was shaking me but Marty threw him against the wall and told me to come here. If Marty wouldn't have walked in Craig probably would have taken it a lot further, like before."
"Thats happened before?" Austin asked klenching his fists.

I didn't answer.

Alex nodded. Austin pulled me in for a big hug. I sobbed.

We didn't do anything that night. We just sat in silence. I fell asleep in Austins arms.

A couple more days and I'm gone.
