I am so dead.
Gray's POV
I watched, helpless, as Wendy and Chelia worked their magic on Juvia's thin and pale body. She looked so frail and weak, torn apart by the many enemies we'd faced together she'd finally collapsed, and I had carried her bridal style back to our makeshift infirmary: a long and tiring trip for someone with gashes as deep as the ocean in their sides. Suddenly her eyes flickered open, and she made a soft humming sound. "Gray-sama? What happened?" She whispered, her voice small and almost undetectable. "You collapsed, don't move or you'll rupture something." Carla retorted sternly, dressing the huge laceration across Juvia's stomach. "I'm right here," I reassured her which she replied to with a smile.
Then tears began to leak from her eyes, staining her porcelain skin. "It hurts Gray-sama, it hurts so much."
"I know. I'm so sorry."
"For what?" Her sobs now sniffles, I inched my stool closer to the bed. "For allowing you to get so beat up. It's my fault you're like this."
"It's Juvia's fault for not learning some more powerful defense magic. Juvia is an idiot." Wendy gently dabbed Juvia's face with a cloth, then backed off to give us some space, dragging the exceeds and Chelia with her. She was a good kid. "Look if you weren't there then I would've got pulverised. You are not an idiot at all Juvia. I mean, it wasn't me who thought of the unison raid, was it?" She giggled quietly to herself at this, then closed her eyes. "When Juvia fights with Gray-sama, she feels much stronger." I tried to hide my grin, but she noticed it and added, "does Gray-sama feel that way too?" I nodded. It made sense. Water and ice, pretty much the same element, so similar yet so different at the same time.
"Please don't leave Juvia, Gray-sama," she breathed, it was clear that this was tiring her out. "I'm not gonna move a muscle, Wendy wouldn't allow it. Besides, I've done enough of that already anyway." But she'd already drifted back into unconsciousness.
A scream from far off suddenly sounded; we both knew what that meant. "Gambatte, Lucy-sama" Juvia mumbled in her sleep.
I was such a goddamn coward. Even Natsu would be able to do it while she was still awake. But I wasn't Natsu. I was Gray and this is what I said.
"By the way, my answer is yes..."
Well that wasn't cheesy at all... I'm so sorry, this was not meant to come out a full two months after me writing the first two chapters. Forgive me if this is awful. Also if you don't get this, it's a reference to a recent chapter of the manga. I'm off to be murdered now, see y'all in't afterlife. Sayonara!

FanfictionFirst of all, a quick explanation. Although it would be awesome, I do not own Fairy Tail or any of the ships that come with it. My second fanfic. This one's about Fairy Tail though. I dedicate this one to my friends Nadia, Steph, Kiaya and Emma...
