It was raining. It always seemed to rain
on the days where I was in pain. Blood was seeping through my jeans as I continued to sit on my knees. My ears ringing. My head throbbing. But the worst was the tears falling down my cheeks. They burned as they fell, leaving behind a trail for the next set to fall. I started to shiver as the wind blew. What time was it?
How long have I been here?
Where is everyone?Question after question flew threw my head as I stared at the tombstone before me. Imprinted on it was his name and birth date. At the very bottom, the day of his death.
Why did you have to die?
I cried harder as I stared at the wilting flowers next to his tombstone. So many flowers, yet no one left to look at them except me. I guess even they were giving me sympathy. Everyone gave me nothing but sympathy, but none of them meant it. They all hated him.
Except for me...
I was the only person who ever loved him and he loved me, he was the only one to ever truly care about me. As I sat there I thought about all the fun we used to have and how he always kept his promises. And now I'm here on this pitiless earth all alone. I was weak.
As I continued to cry a hand touched my shoulder making me jump."Calm child." said a deep Russian accent. One I've never heard before. I continued to look at the tombstone in front of me as he talked.
"He was great man. Greater than even you know. I made promise to him before he died."
The tears seemed to stop as I looked up at the man behind my shoulder. He was tall and very well muscled. He had tanned skin with dark brown hair and eyes. But his eyes were dark. So dark it was if I was staring at the pain and agony he's been through and seen. But behind all the hurt there was a slight glint of power. I must admit he was a scary SOB but not as scary as him."You don't know shit about him." I said angrily. Who did he think he was? Couldn't he see I was not in the mood to see anyone?
"I can see his spirit in you. You will be handful just like him. Now as I said before I made promise to him, come with me."
He let go of my shoulder and started to walk away. Who the hell was he and why would I follow him? I turned back and stared at the tombstone starting to sulk again."I forgot to tell you child, I am his brother." He said with slight amusement in his voice.
"Liar," I spit back at him "He didn't have a brother."
"That's what you think," he started to walk away again. He was lying, he had to be. I stood on my weak and wobbly legs.
"Wait." I said
"Come child we do not have all day."
I slowly limped after him as he approached a car. He opened the door and helped me climb into the passenger seat as he went around to the drivers seat.
"Who are you?" I whispered.
We had been driving for about 10 minutes. I was exhausted. I had been sitting and staring at the tombstone for at least three days. Sitting in a plush and warm environment made me realized how tired and weak I was.
I'm disgusted with myself.
"My name is Vladimir," he cast a side look at me and stared back at the road.
"Sleep child, I will explain later."
I stared at the road and watched as the trees went by. I started counting and they soon became a blur. The last thing I remembered was...
Father, what have you left behind for me?
