Louis’ POV
“Hey lads, I’m back.” I called, shutting the door of our motel penthouse. Silence was my reply. I shuffled into the bedroom I was sleeping in where I found my four best friends sitting on the bed.
“We saw the tweet.” Was all Liam said. My shoulders slumped, I sat down in the window seat.
“And? How much hate have we received?” I muttered wearily, running my hands through my hair.
“Some from other fandoms, our girls are defending us.” Niall answered his eyes glittering pitifully.
“Why?” I asked, hope filling my chest.
“They seem to think you two are perfect for each other.” Zayn snapped, showing me a picture of two silhouettes under a tree with one in the other’s arms.
“I caught her when she jumped out of the tree!” I cried irritatingly.
“Well this picture has done more than her tweet. You better be grateful.” Harry growled.
I grimaced when I said; “Eleanor?”.
“She called earlier to say the deals off and you two don’t have to be together anymore.” Liam answered. I sighed in relief and watched the lads warily.
“Alright, someone tell me why you guys are so pissed.” I demanded.
“You bullied someone and never told us.” Harry said coldly which was worse than if he had shouted.
I ran my fingers through my hair “I know, I’m terrible and daft. I don’t know why I never told you guys. I always had a crush on her in the ninth year so I assumed she thought I was teasing.” I answered sadly.
Liam stared at me for a moment “We talked it over and decided we are going to forgive you. Only because Sophi did. She is a good person it sounds like.” He said after a moment. My friends nodded in agreement and grateful tears filled my eyes. Niall was the first to hug me and soon we were in a huge pile. I was in the middle, tears sliding down my cheeks.
The next morning I woke up with a start. My phone vibrating on the bedside table. I picked it up to see I had a new text.
Sophi: Want to do something today? I think it’s time you and I started over. I stared at my phone in disbelief for a heartbeat before replying.
Louis: Of course! I’m so glad! I figured you would hate me!
She took a moment to reply. I read the message over and over before laughing. It was good to laugh and I let myself fall into it. It bubbled up inside of me, erupting from my mouth in a series of snorts and laughs.
