"I love you babe!" My girlfriend Emily said, leaning in for a kiss. But I leaned away.
"What's wrong babe?" she asked with puppy dog eyes.
I stammered with the first few lines.
"I don't want to be a couple anymore." anger engulfed her face as she stood up, red as a tomato.
"What do you mean, You don't want to be a couple anymore?" she said with one hand on her hip.
"I mean what I said. You are a little... too clingy. I'm sorry." I said wanting to get rid of her as quick as possible. I saw another cute girl walk past us.
"You cannot be serious! Three months, Eric!!!" she said looking to see if anyone was watching.
"Sorry, I'm just a heart breaker, and your heart is now with the others."
I run in the direction that the other cute girl was walking in. Everything was going just fine until I ran into a bit of trouble.
"Ouch!" screamed the girl who bumped into me.
"Watch where you're going loser!" I yelled, trying to contain myself so I didn't burn her with the dying embers on my hand.
She picked up her book and glasses saying sorry the entire time. I have to admit she is pretty cute without the glasses.
I continue to chase the girl. Unfortunately, she is sitting on the bench next to some guy. As I begin to approach I finally realize, she is with her boyfriend. Great. I check my watch and I realize I am way past my curfew.
"Damn it!" I run behind a bush and pull out a dark purple-ish liquid that my aunt Nora gave me.
"Good for one teleportation" says the paper wrapping on the bottle. I drink the liquid that tastes like grape juice and think of the place I wanted to go to.
"9782 Belk street." I say out loud. My body broke down into particles and dissipated.
When my body reverted back to normal, I saw my mother standing on the porch smoking a cigarette, utterly terrified.
"So much for sneaking..." I muttered under my breath. I took my phone out of my pocket and handed to my mother. I already knew the deal. One second late and I already know what's going to happen. Considering that I was an hour and a half late, I think I definitely know what's going to happen.
"I don't know whether or not to be worried or expecting of you to know that you know our deal. This is a bad habit for you to continue dabbling with." I walked into the house and started to juggle little fireballs between my fingertips, enlightened, looking at the flames.
"Not in the house." My mother said sternly.
I walked up stairs to my bedroom and went into the first room on the left- my bedroom. I pushed the door open with my body and not my hands, slamming into it. I then plopped onto the pillows and let out a loud, monotonous groan that echoed throughout the room with my low pitched voice.
After a few non-silent minutes, I figured I should probably start doing something other than lie here. I reach into my pocket to grab my phone and- Oh... I don't have it anymore. I reach under my bed and pull out a really old journal. I flipped through the pages just for old times sake until I turn around.
"Yoo, hoo!" I jump at the sound and realized it's just my dad or, Satan. Some might call him Lucifer. By some I mean everyone who has met him up here.
"Uh..." I stand there with my mouth wide open looking like a fool.
"Why so shocked?" He took one step and it looked like he took 10. He was dangerously close.
I stood up from my kneeling position and brushes off my blue jeans. "Haven't seen you in a while, what brings you?"
"Can't a father see his son every once in a while?" He walked around the room, picking up a dolphin statue. He looked up and smiled at me, putting it back down.
"I guess, but you almost never come up to visit. Just seems a little... odd." I shuffled around the room staying at the opposite side that he's on.
"Just wanted see if my boy was wreaking havoc, just like I want." He clasped his hands together in front of him, looking at me and smiling. "By how I've been watching, you dumped your seventh girlfriend just this year and judging by the looks you have that girl, you want her too." I shot him a glare.
"That girl is a total nerd. I'd like to have someone who can watch me break their heart without having adjust their glasses." I scoffed. He just laughed at me.
"That's my boy." I better get going, your mother doesn't know I'm here.
With a wave of his hands he was out of sight, out of mind. I had a new target. All thanks to Lucifer himself, I've gotten the idea to crush that poor girls heart. Dumping people was one thing but now, now I can break them down. Destroy them.
Wait, what am I thinking? I can't do this. But I have to, for dad. I have to make him proud. The thing is, why should I? All he does is make sure that he's spreading his genes all through the world. He's just like me. Or, in this case, I'm just like him.
I went to sleep and woke up at one of the late hours. I opened my door to hear the sounds of the TV going, the soft sound of crunching. It was my mom watching her night shows on her day off. My hands turned the door knob and closed the door. I opened my window and climbed onto the roof.
I curled up holding my knees and looked out at the stars. Looking down at my hands I started to play with the fire again. I tossed it back and forth and watched as it grew. Mesmerizing, it was peaceful. Beautiful, even. It grew at an outstanding pace, traveling up my arms. Something I was never capable of before. The flames licked the sleeve of my shirt. Before it got of hand I stopped myself from making anymore fire and contained the flames.
I think that's enough for the night.
I climbed back through my window, leaving it open. I then dove into my mattress, meeting it face first. Staring at the ceiling I feel into a dreamless slumber.
