A bright light shines through my eyes, blinding them as I sit up and stretch. I get up, walking instinctively back to the ancient book of Dimënsiöns when I say a golden envelope sitting by the door. I pick it up, as it literally glows with white smoke and opens itself. It's obviously handwritten with a fountain pen, or maybe a typewriter? "Hello my warriors. If you haven't noticed this town is the home to people with powers, that's what the golden 'dust' you may call it, is. It's a simple spell casted by someone who has either been born with it or defeated the curse. What curse? You must go back to hell to find out. Herobrine will be waiting in the 5th Dimënsiön. Good luck, my warriors." I mumble the words out loud, and as soon as I'm done the paper slides back inside the envelope as the golden paper closes again. The envelops disappears, with yet another poof of golden dust.
That's a lot to take it, even now I'm still realising the fact that I have just gotten a house in some magical Dimënsiön, and now I have to travel into hell to fight a cursed "Herobrine"? I sigh and pull my bow out of my pocket, stroking the slightly fraying string. It feels like this is all I have left of my old World.. I stand up. I need a break, I can't do all this at once can I?
Instinctively, I leave the lodge and walk outside to the archery range. Dawn has just risen, the air morning cold, few on the leaves of trees and bushes surrounding me. I hear birds chirping around me as the sunrise finishes off. It's nearly completely empty outside, like a sanctuary. I take a sharp feathered arrow out of my quiver and aim, shooting straight for a bullseye with my bow. Shooting again feels great, like I have my freedom back. After all, that is one of the things I value most, my freedom. I can see my breath this early at the crack of dawn, and that's when I realise this town is truly magical.
"Tess!" Cass comes running into the range, holding a leather pouch in her hand. "We have to go." She pulls me by the arm as we run back to the lodge. "What? What happened?" She looks at me as she points to the chests. "Get your stuff, we're going back to hell. You read the letter right?" "Oh. Okay..Yeah, I read it." I say. I grab my leather shoulder bag, throwing my sharpened diamond blade, a new iron pickaxe, and a spare helmet in it. For food, I find steak, bread, and a huge stock of apples in a chest. I don't know why, but I feel like it's smart to bring the ancient book I found, and a few of those marble-pearls we found yesterday. Of course, I swing my quiver over my shoulder with the bag, and I keep armed with my armour and bow.
"Where's Jacob and Emmy?" I say as Cass and I walk to the portal. "They're going to come later..if we're still alive, that is.." Her voice inexplicably wears off at the end of her sentence as we reach the portal. "Cass--" I begin, but she ruthlessly jumps into the purple glittering mass. I sigh, walking in behind her as the portal engulfs me.
Of course, as soon as we step outside, a wave of unbearable heat overcomes me. I see the same old big engulfing flames as we walk past them. Lava falls, burning from the red sky. This truly is hell.. "Cass, what exactly are we even looking for?" "I don't know.." She says. "But I know when we see it we will." What does that even mean?
We walk along the red stone that almost looks bloodied..the heat becomes more and more unbearable, when I turn around and see a black skeleton running straight for us. "Cass! Go!" She runs behind a corner in this huge cavern as I aim my bow at the skeleton as he messily copied my actions, but he lets go before me. I duck, luckily dodging his aim. He shoots again and again, literally pelting the sky with arrows, and I scream as I trip, not enough to dodge one arrow, spinning at an amazingly fast speed straight at me, which scrapes my arm. Instinctively I let go and watch my arrow pierce straight through his neck, making his blackened bones collapse into a broken pile. I stand up to see the bloodied arrow on the ground next to me. My arm is bleeding, too much skin scraped off. I grab a bandage I brought, wrapping it around the wound. But I don't think I could handle another one of those things with my arm. Cass isn't a fighter though, there's no way she can beat those mobs. I guess I'll have to man up, because I do believe the real "warrior" status is resting on my fingertips at the moment.
"Tess, are you alright?" Cass says, running up to me. "I'm fine, Cass." I say as I walk up to a strange looking hole in the wall. It seems to be faintly glowing a deep red. Actually..now that I think about it, there seems to be a sort of deep red glow along the floor. "Wait a second, Cass, check this out." I say as I follow the glow along the blood-red stone floor. "Tess, are you sure this lead somewhere--Wow." I look up, only to see a massive red fortress. It's made out of dark red bricks, it's taller than anything I've seen in a long time. "Holy god, how are we supposed to get up there?" The red towers look like they literally reah sky level, I can't even see the top of some of the towers..
"Um, Tess?" Cass grabs one of the blueish pearls out of her hand and grabs me by the shoulder as she chucks it all the way to the top of the fortress. "What are you doing--" Suddenly, we're engulfed in a cloud of red dust, clearing it out I see we're literally in the fortress! "Wow, how did you do that?" "The pearls, they're teleportation devices. Chuck one anywhere and it will bring us to that spot--Tess, follow me." She sprints down the long hallway of red bricks, until we reach a staircase, which she climbs down. We pass so many doors until she stops dead in her tracks, pointing to something at the end of the hallway. "T-Tess.." Afraid already, I look up and I see him. I see him. His glowing pure white eyes stare at us, a mysterious white fog surrounding him. "It-it's him.." I stammer, feeling like the fortress is closing in on me. "It's Herobrine."
Suddenly, a bright blinding light flashes around us, engulfing us in flames. Is this a hallucination? It feels hot and stuffy, and surrounding us is the image of flames. They burn in closer and closer before a white blinding light takes over everything and as it closes in on us, a ringing noise gets louder and louder in our ears..and then everything flashes white.
"Tess! Tess! Cass!" Not this again..I open my eyes, and I don't see myself burning in a pit of fire anymore..there's no glowing white eyes staring me down from a distance. All I see is our world..our normal world.. I start to drift off against the sight of my injured arm before being literally pulled up by someone. My vision added away from the massive white blur it was before, slowly shaping into a real image. Suddenly, I feel like I've been hit with the weight of realisation; what just happened. I sit up immediately, looking around the world which is no longer the scorching flames of hell. I'm lying on the grass, in front of the big purple portal to hell. I'm not going near that thing! "Tess?" "I saw him." "Him?" "I saw Herobrine.."
Emmys face goes pale, her blank state at the portal deepening. "How.." She mumbles, standing up abruptly. "Emmy? Are you okay--" She runs straight into portal, not looking back once. "Emmy! What the hell are you doing?" I come back to my senses. Great, the last time I blacked out I fell into a portal, now Emmy's gone running into hell?
