Pandora's perspective

"Pandora I'm so sorry this happened to you!", my mother said burying her hands in her face.

"It's not your fault mom, no one knew this would happen", it was clear she didn't hear me. "Mom it's not your fault!". I yelled. Again I could tell she didn't hear me.

"Pandora?"

I turned around, it was a masculine voice that spoke.

"Pan?", he said. He looks familiar but I can't quite tell from where. It can't be who I think it is,  I thought. "Pandora, it's me"

It was my father, just as I thought. I ran up to him and swung my arms around his shoulders.

"I always knew I would see you again..", I said.

"Me too"

"Have you talked to mom?"

"You can only be seen for a very short time, my dear little Pan"

"Can we both use some time to show ourselves to momma?"

"Anything for you", he then picked me up in his arms. "Max! Max were here! We love you!"

"Momma I'm with daddy!"

My mother looked up with teary red puffy eyes. "Andrew? Pandora?", she paused. "I love you too", she said. "Forever"

"Forever", me and my father said.

Pandora's father tells Pan about how that he has seen her again and said a real goodbye to her mother that it was his time to move on. Pandora wanted to go with him but she couldn't, she was still needed on the earth. He said no matter if he's moved on she still has him in her heart.

Weeks turned into months turned into years. Dad and Daddy made videos, and did live streams. The picture of the three of us still stands in the lounge above the couch. They spoke of me sometimes, in videos or on twitter. They still remember me, they still speak of me. That's all I ever wanted was that after I'm gone someone will remember me.

Daddy turned 30 like that and soon after that 70. Dad was 66 and daddy was 70. Oh where had the time gone.

They never adopted anyone. They got married in 2022. They quit YouTube when daddy turned 50. They never got a dog. But they lived in that apartment for 44 years.

Eventually the stairs became too much for daddy and he fell down them one day and broke his arm. Dad said, "Love I think it's time to leave".

People from the nursing home came to help them get there things.

But I'm still here, waiting to carry on. Like my father did all those years ago.

Daddy insisted upon carrying a backpack as they were leaving. Dad said, "Wait here i'll be right back". But daddy didn't listen and walked down the stairs anyway and tripped on the last step and everything in his bag fell out.

I walked over and started putting everything back in his bag.

"I don't need any help, but thank you", he said getting up.

I held out his back and gave it to him. "Do you want a hug?", I said.

Daddy held out his arms and I hugged him best I could, tears fell from both our eyes.

"I love you Pandora Howlter"

"I love you daddy"

Daddy let me go and I waved goodbye. Dad came in and saw me. "I love you dad!"

He paused studying me, "I love you too Pan"

I waved goodbye again, and then they were gone.

The apartment was empty, soon to be filled with new faces.

"Forever", I said.

And I walked out of the apartment.

Moving on, somewhere else.
