today louis is outside.
it's windy. the cool air of autumn bites at his skin. he tries to sink into himself and keep warmth. it doesn't work.
he stands at the near train station, watching them go by. he waits for the right one to ride.
with journal in hand, he rode the train all the way to Manchester. aiko lived there. he went to an open meadow where there was a hidden lake.
he ripped the pages from his journal. the ones that contained the happy, beautiful things he wrote and drew. he balled them up and threw them, scattered across the grass.
louis climbs a big, cold rock. his bare toes touch the child nature. he peers down at the water. dark, cold, and unwelcoming.
reminds him of aiko.
he inhales sharply, trying to breathe. anxiety builds up in his chest as he stands there, counting backwards from 10.
9....8....7.....
louis prays. dear god, forgive me.
6....5.....4......
warm tears flow down his face. he lifts his arms evenly, palms out. he tilts his head to the sky, as if offering himself to God.
3.....2......1.....
he pushes all his deadweight forward, letting gravity to the rest of her work. the only noise to be heard is the loud splash of louis' body hitting the water.
he got his moment to breathe.
