I'm pretty sure I was still staring into Harry's eyes when I heard a clattering noise from my house and a nice loud "FUCK" from none other than my sister. Shit Sierra, now? Really? By then I was genuinely worried for the sake of my sister and our kitchen. I apologized to Harry for having to leave and started to make my way back to my house.
"Emily." Shit him saying my name is the most wonderful sound in the world. "Erm, you forgot your dog."
Oh right. The dog. I quickly ran back to him, grabbed Charli, and continued on my way to the kitchen.
Once I shut the door to my home, I spun around and almost peed myself because of the boy I just met. Did that actually happen? Is he actually my neighbor? I ran over to Sierra grinning like an idiot.
"You'll never guess what just happened," I said to my sister as she was removing her pan out of the oven. It seemed to be covered in some sort of black crust. Figures.
"I don't know Emma, but you look like a fucking slob right now." (My sister is quite the charmer)
"What a lovely thing to say to me right now. Especially because I just met the hottest boy alive, who just so happens to be our new neighbor." I rolled my eyes at her comment, but eventually I brushed off her mentioning me looking like a slob because that is just a Sierra thing to say.
Before I could tell her anymore about Harry, my mom walked down the stairs. Now my mom is just about the coolest lady that I know. Like last Christmas, she bought my sister and I wine coolers and the three of us got drunk while we decorated our gingerbread house. Best tradition ever, might I add. Anyways, my mom=super cool person. So I HAD to tell her about Harry.
"Mom guess what. I just met a boy and he is so so so cute and he has a British accent and super pretty eyes and really nice hair, like probably nicer than mine, but that's not too hard to accomplish. And I think I'm in love." I finished and gasped for air because of how many words I crammed into those two sentences. She smiled at me and came over to envelope me into a hug.
"Yay Em! That is so awesome that you met a boy! I know how hard that is for you so it's probably a good thing that he lives right across from us. That pretty much means you guys have to be friends." My mom probably wants me to meet a boy more than anyone else. She's like my number one supporter in the boy department.
"You need to get dressed, do something with that knot on your head, and then you can take over some of the cookies that Sierra just baked to the new neighbors." So they were cookies, huh.
"Um about that..." Sierra started, "cookies are a no go." I looked over and mentally cheered because in our "sweets" corner, there were some cookies from the other day. Sure, they aren't freshly baked, but they'll have to do for now. Perfect. I ran downstairs so that I could fix the whole "fucking slob" situation so that I could go over to Harry's house and talk to him again.
