The music blasted in my ears, blocking out and source or type of reality, as I sketched the man screaming. His eyes were squeezed shut and his mouth was wide open. Even though he tried to scream, he was as quiet as a church mouse. Or in this case, no one heard him.

I was aware of the doorbell ringing continuously and the person behind the door almost breaking it with how they are knocking but my mother was home, she could get the door. No matter how hungover she was, I was not getting up from my bed.

"Quinn! Get the flippin' door!" She shouted from her bedroom. I thought she had a hangover. I guess not then.

"Quinn!" The people from downstairs tried to shout. I'm not moving.

Suddenly my bedroom door burst open and my favorite song appears: Elastic Heart - Sia. The entire atmosphere becomes eerie. Sia's words hit me hard as I watched the people in front of me.

'You did not break me.
I'm still fighting for peace...'

What type of peace? Was it inner, physical, mental... spirtual?! I didn't know the answer but I knew that I wanted my mental peace back. The image of Trystan, my boyfriend for two years, and that girl, haunted me and I imagined myself screaming silently; just like the man I was drawing.

'I've got thick skin and an elastic heart.
But your blade might be too sharp.'

Trystan's blade wasn't sharp, it was unexpected. The way he spoke on the phone just before added to it even more. I should have known.

I moved my gaze back to my drawing and continued, "What'd you want?" I asked, rather rudely.

"We heard about what happened." Kaia whispered, slowly walking toward my bed. She did this as if any small noise or movement would make me burst into tears. I was over it.

"I'm over it. B.S happens in life,  right?" I shrugged.

They glanced at each other, worridely.

"Yeah, but..." Emerson trailed off. I knew that she was going to tell me that I wasn't over it.

"But nothing," I snapped then abruptly smiled evilly.

"No. No, no, no, no! I know that look! We aren't!"

"Aw, but you don't know what I have planned!" I pouted, fighting a smile.

"C'mon, K, you know you want to!" Emerson and I begged.

"Ugh, fine!"

We cheered and speedily ran out of the door. I got in my car, that the girls brought from school for me.
What best friends are for, right?

"Please tell me that we aren't going to Tyrstan's."Emerson pleaded.

"We aren't," I replied to her and turned to Kaia, whose face is buried in her phone, "Kaia, I need your phone, please." I put my hand out to recieve then phone and she shrieked.

"Hm? Yeah? Oh, sure!" She stuttered, making me narrow my eyes, suspiciously. I shook my head and made a mental note to ask her about it later.

I blocked Kaia's number amd called Trystan. The girls looked to me as if I was a mad woman.

"What are you doing?!" Kaia hissed.

"Oh my gosh! I have been waiting too long for this!" Emerson squealed.

After about four rings, he picked up.

"Hello?" His voice sounded groggy, as if he'd just woken up.

"Good morning, Mr. Pierce." I deepened my voice and made it smooth, to sound like a professional man.

"Who's this?" He questioned, more awake now.

"President Obama. I've personally called to tell you that you've made the top ten Most Wanted list. Watch your back!" I hung up the phone and speed off to the mechanics.

"Time to begin our little mission!" I laughed.

When we arrived, the girls looked confused but wwnt along nonetheless. I walked into the shop and told thw keeper that we've come to collect Tyrstan's car.

For as long as I can remember, he brought he car here ever Wednesday and Saturday to be cleaned. I laughed maniacally as the mechanic let me take tje car. Wrong idea.

"I need you both to take my car and follow me. We're going for a little ride." I jumped into his car and shifted the gears and easily sped off, loving the feeling of fast driving. His car was a sports car after all.

Before I made it to my destination, I stopped to get spray paint and car stickers. Emerson stopped me and looked at me sternly.

"This is not a good idea."

"I agree with Em." Kaia added.

"Oh, seriously?" I wanted to go through with this whether they liked it or not. I want my payback.

"Yes, seriously! Do you want to go to jail?"

"Can't be that bad." I ran off amd jumped in the car before they could answer. I drove away and they unwillingly followed.

I drove to a dessert-like area, with lots of sand and drifted in circles to make the car dirty. I then spray painted, everywhere with indecent words but made my quote the largest.

"Payback is a female dog at it's worst." Afterwards I put the stickers and Barbie dolls and Power Puff Girls and the windows and windshield.

I smiled at my art and undoubtedly drove Tyrstan's car to his house. My phone ran and I answered without checking the caller ID.

"I thoughtyou said that we weren't coming here!" Emerson whined.

"Oh, relax. He's not home anyway. He went to pick up his 'clean car' from the mechanics."

My car pulled up beside me and I hopped in and drove back to my house grinning like an idiot. I feel good.

Giving payback feels good.
