A lost raindrop rolled down the window, being dragged down slowly. Mum sniffled and wiped her cheek with the crumpled tissue that looked weeks old. The was a knot slowly building up in the back of my throat.
I could tell imogen was upset, I couldn't belive it. Dad was gone. Under the daisies, six feet under. I'm not going to see him again. He won't be able to walk me down the aisle in ten years from now. I could see mom slowly welling up. Her eyes were puffy from crying because she couldn't stop crying for the last three days. They were dehydrated, and looked sore. Sobs raked her body, no one should be able to cry that hard.
It all happened in a instant, I was in shock. After a car crash there is normally a ear piercing silence, and yeah. It was worrying. I lifted my head. I was drowning, up to my nose in water. Mom was underneath, and I could see Imogen struggling. There is nothing more distressing than seeing a toddler in pain. I turned to reach for her seatbelt, but I was trapped. I cut my side, but Imogen was still trapped so I released my sleeve, and unstrapped her from her seat. Imogen started banging on the window, trying to free herself. The window caved in and the glass caught her and the current took her away.
First dad now Imogen, I couldn't lose mom. She was unconcious. I managed to free her and drag her ashore. As I pushed her onto the bank I could feel my fingers numbing, the mud covering me, my vision unclear as I was unable to see through the tears that were welling up in my eyes. It was dropping dark the moon reflected on the river, it crumpled over the minor waves.
I was soaked through, i put my hand in my pocket looking for my cell to call the emergency services. It gave off a unreasuring buzz as i pressed the power button. In sight there were no buildings for as far as i could see. The bank wad low but aside the was a higer wall. My main aim was to save mom i climed up, and screamed repeatedly trying to seek help.
I chose history at school, but i wasn't completely senseless i knew the river would rise. I unbuckled my belt and created a harness. I lifted mom and placed her next to me. Every now and then i nudged her hoping she would wake up she had a pulse so i had some hope at the least. I heard a faint vibration, and realised moms phone had a waterproof case, i dialed the emergency services. I sat on the edge and witnessed the river raise to the bank as it was still raining. In bordem i stared at my shoes they were wet through and when i rubbed them together they would squeek. I moved my foot aside and saw dads memorial handout barely holding together.
The memorial card was the only remaining part of dad that belongs to me i climbed down to retive the paper. 'Ilsa' I heard a faint voice. I looked up and saw mom peering over the edge of the higher wall. I grasped a rock attached to the ruin of a wall, but it appeared to crumble within my palm. I fell.
