Chapter 4: Self Care Tips

Have you eaten today? You really need to eat to keep yourself healthy. Starving yourself is NOT okay!!! Even if you think you have ate enough today or you binged yesterday, I do not care you need to eat something! Please, for me <3

Also, have you slept? You really need sleep. Even just four hours – although you really need a bit more than that. People say the recommended amount of sleep for someone is eight hours (I can personally say I only get that some nights but that's because I'm normally swamped with homework and revision to do so I'm up half the night)

When was the last time you were outside, and sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus doesn't count, I mean for a walk or something. Seriously, just take five or ten minutes out of your daily routine and go for a walk. Even if it's just round your street or to the park. You need fresh air daily and you need to make it relaxing.

Get some exercise. I know it will sound boring and tiring but it clears your mind. Take it for me I'm really not fit at all in fact I think I'm the least good at sports in my year at school, but, I do a bit of exercise every day. Whether it be walking the dogs or bouncing on the trampoline, doing a few sit-ups before bed or chasing my dogs round the park. It doesn't matter just do some exercise each day and it will clear your mind of the things bothering you. PLUS it makes you feel super awesome cause you actually got up and did it for your own benefit!!

The self-care posts that you see on Tumblr and Instagram that tell you to take a bath, eat some chocolate or read a book are good, but do what needs doing first. Eating chocolate when you haven't showered in four days and you can't remember the last time you changed your underwear was won't make you feel better.it will probably make you feel worse. Clean yourself and your surroundings up. Then take care of the little things. Tackle life one thing at a time. Remember, Baby Steps.
