3. The Morning

                 

When Clara woke up, Danny was already out of bed. Her clothes were lying in a neat folded pile beside the bed, definitely not where she'd left the last night. The thought of last night dawned on her again and the awkward conversation they'd had at four in the morning came rushing back. She lifted her head up before smacking it back down onto the pillow, cringing.

She reached for her clothes and began to get dressed, even her bra and undies were folded; the idea of Danny folding her bra and undies was just weird.

She tiptoed out into Danny's open planned living room and kitchen to find him standing by the stove making French toast.

"Hey," he said, turning around, "I wasn't sure if you wanted to stay for breakfast or not, but I made extra just in case,"

"No thanks, I'm probably busy,"

"Probably busy?"

"Yeah, I have a friend who just comes by whenever,"

"Ah, okay, well I guess I'll see you at work on Monday,"

"Yep, thanks for last night," Clara said, walking up to him and giving him an awkward kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks for last night?" He asked, obviously confused.

"Yeah, you paid for dinner, didn't you?" She replied.

"No you did, I stormed out angrily, remember?" Danny reminded her.

"Oh yeah,"

"Do you want me to pay you back?"

"No, no it's fine. I just meant thanks for..." she trailed off.

Thanks for what, Clara? The sex?

"For your hospitality," she finished.

"My hospitality," Danny repeated, looking bemused.

"I'm just gonna go before I say something even worse, okay?" Clara said hopelessly.

"Okay, see you at work," Danny said to her.

"Yes, Monday!" She called back, hurrying out the door.

This part was quite short, but I promise the rest will be longer, probably around 400-800 words a chapter, this one was barely 300, but I wanted a short continuation on from 'What Happens Now?'
