Edan's point of view
Abe made a loud groan when I dumped him off my shoulder. He shook his head and seemed to come to at least a little. The witch yielded a sword and began striking at me. Easily fending off her attempts I counter blocked and began the offense. I didn't know what or who she was, I didn't want to fatally injure her in case she was someone important. No need to start a war.
"I was hoping to have you for supper.. now i guess you'll be in pieces." she snarled. Her voice sounding like lumpy mud rolling off her thick tongue.
Not into small talk I only fought back laughing at her lame excuse of technique. This only made her snarl and begin an offensive attack. I must admit, she was getting better. sweat began beading on my neck as i fought back. Abe was still sitting on the ground looking at the witch like she was a shining star. What spell had she put on him while she was whispering in his ear? The old hag finally began to tire out, and because of my training I okay but still tired. She or it or the thing was good.. whatever the witch was. I finally found an opening and made a gash in her leg, just big enough to stop her advance and from her following us, but not big enough to be fatal. I grabbed Abe and thank god he was almost back to himself. We began walking towards the Sehers.
The path was long and narrow. I could make a pun about the Seher's gates and the gates of Heaven but I'm not sure that would be decent. Abe was now whining about losing the one and only, the love of his life. He's such a baby.
" I'll never see her again. She was everything. I mean she literally had the best ass I've ever seen.. You'll never see a better ass than that Edan."
"Dude she turned into a freaking taloned sword wielding witch thing. She had like a snout and everything. She had a fucking tale. Her "amazing ass" turned into a tale dude get over it."
"Well I dont remember any of that. All I can remember is you and she were dancing, and she said something to you about an otter. Did she call you an otter? Why were you dancing with my girl Edan? I know how you are. You're a freaking player dude. Last year you stole Gianna from me and slept with her after our commission to the guard. You asshole, you knew I was trying to get her. She came out of your room and blushed at me. My own girl blushed at me from your doorway. You man whore.. Now you're dancing with... What was her name? We never got her name! How will I marry her without knowing her name!"
Abe said all this to me without even taking a breath. Its like the spell gave him the energy boost that five espressos would. And Abe doesn't even need one espresso. Oh my god he wont stop talking.
"What am I gonna say to her at our wedding. Dear fair lady, I choose you to have and to hold till death do us part, for better or for wor..."
"How do you even fucking know the beginning of the wedding vows? "
" I study romantic things.. the ladies like it. Ya know what I mean.." He smirked and winked at me. The thought of Abe doing anything romantic towards a girl made me want to throw up a little. This is going to be a long walk.
Ece's point of view.
I quickly grabbed the gentleman's water glass and brought him a new full one. "Sir, may I get anything for you?"
"Yes, thank you. May we have some Highland Park Scotch. The single malt please." The man dressed in a finely fitted tuxedo asked. He, and what must have been his mistress, were just finishing their meal. She didn't have a wedding ring nor a tan line from it while his tan line was clearly visible. That whiskey costs more than one thousand dollars a bottle. Who knows what he's paid her to keep quiet.
Going to get the scotch I thought about all the finely dressed people that were in this joint. One of the best and most private restaurants in the city. That's saying something considering its New York. People come here for the perks we offer. No one asked names, no one asked questions. Thats what people pay for. Thats what they pay a lot for. This was my job though, serving rich snobby customers for the measly paycheck. The only things keeping me here are the tips. Rich people who don't want you to talk leave enough money to make sure you don't. If they have enough money to give their wife's sister that diamond necklace around her neck, they have enough money to keep the shy waitresses mouth shut, Or so they think. What they don't know is that the restaurant isn't how I make my money, making the clients inside keep their mouth shut is.
Some of our clients would profit from the downfall of others. The clients that are worried of their precious reputations call me. I pay a little visit to the rat who wants to spill the beans and make sure that never happens. My father happened to be an enthusiastic member of the prospering mafia here in New York. My mother was one of the leading ladies to campaign for the "organization". Everything from faked newspaper articles to charity donations, my mother headed the communications department. You would never know looking at her today. The sweet and caring woman that she is would never be in the Italian mafia. WRONG. She and my dad were. It was fucking awesome. Since they were kinda dangerous people they couldn't have a daughter that was a wussy. I was trained in mixed martial arts since I was a kid. My parents didn't want me to be alone on the streets without a way to protect myself. I always had a body guard posted but they couldn't go to the ladies room with me. Thus I was taught to fight. I've stopped six muggings and three purse snatches with my finely honed skills. I feel very accomplished. Only threats had to be made to stop rich people from talking, so my amazing ninja skills weren't allowed to be used yet. Yet. This lovely lady and her lover were about to have a stern conversation with me in his penthouse hotel room on 36th street.
