I yawned, sitting up as I stretched in my bed. I looked over at my roommates, Quinn, and Alexa, both typically fast asleep. I jumped down from my bed and left my dorm room grabbing two eggs out of the small fridge in our kitchenette. I walked to my floor's common room/kitchen to make scrambled eggs, I didn't even notice the boy standing cluelessly in the center of the room, it was when I turned the burner on a cough forming in this throat as I turned around catching my breath.
"Geez! You scared me!" I laughed as the boy sheepishly smiled. "Do you need help with anything?" I asked, I had never seen him before and I knew everyone on my floor, so if she was from a different floor he wouldn't be in our common room.
"Yeah," he smiled, "I just transferred, like today, and I'm super confused, could you show me to my dorm? I know it's on this floor." I smiled and nodded turning the burner off.
"What room?" I asked as I turned to walkout of the room, I watched as he followed me, he was fumbling with some papers was he walked.
"246B," He said as more of a question than a statement.
"246B? That's my dorm! Did you request coed rooming?" I asked as his eyes widened.
"No! They have that?" He asked as his voice hinted confusion. I laughed and nodded, I wasn't informed we would be getting a new roommate but we do have an extra room. I go to Emerson, it's a small college in the heart of Boston, we have rooms of 4's and 6's, but we got a 6 since with our coed rooming was 5 people, Alexa, Quinn, Mikey, Will, and me.
"Don't worry, it must be a mistake, we can go right down to the Admissions office and get this sorted out if you're uncomfortable, but I have 2 guys in my room up against 3 girls, we could use the male hormones, my friend Mikey literally lets us paint his nails, and Will doesn't even put up a fight when we put on Hallmark movies," I laughed as the boy smiled.
"I mean if you wouldn't mind..." He started, unsure.
"I'm definitely sure, what's your name?" I asked.
"Ethan Dolan," He smiled as I nodded walking him to our dorm. "What's yours? You've already been so kind and the least I can do is thank you with proper edict," He smiled as I laughed.
"Amy, Amy Clarence" He smiled and nodded his head.
"That's very beautiful name, well, thank you, Amy," I giggled and nodded my head as I unlocked our dorm. Mikey was laying on the floor as I furrowed my eyebrows and tilted my head.
"Who is that?" Mikey asked as he turned his head.
"New roommate, Ethan," I said, Mikey let out a loud yelp and ran to Ethan practically jumping on him. "For goodness sake, Mike!" I yelled as Mikey continued on with his celebration.
"Will likes the girl stuff now! And I think I do too! We need another man! We need to balance the gender hormones in here!" Ethan laughed and pulled him off.
"I'm glad to help, uh, where should I put my things?" I smiled and led him down the hall to the empty room. It was pretty small, Alexa, Quinn, and I got the biggest room since we were housing the most people, Will and Mike just roomed together because no one really wanted to trade the decent sized room for the closet at the end of the hall which Ethan would now call his own. He looked around and smiled, turning to me. "Thank you, Amy" his soft smile spreading across his lips. I nodded and bit my lip, why did he have to be so attractive? Before I could do anything Ethan leaned down and before he could press his lips to mine I heard Mikey call;
"Amy! Cooper is here!" Ethan pulled back and narrowed his eyes.
"Who's Cooper?" I stepped back as I felt strong hands around my hips, Michael spinned me around and kissed me, I pulled back and turned to Ethan.
"Cooper, this is Ethan, our new roommate," I said as Cooper nodded and stuck his hand out and shook Ethan's. "Ethan, this is Cooper, my boyfriend..."
