Chapter 2: Welcome to Beacon

(Crystal's pov)
Didn't think that the day I would be going to Beacon would come so fast. just grabbing the rest of my stuff that I'll need when Jade walks in holding something. It's a small purple box with a white ribbon.

Jade: "This is from me and Storm. We hope you like it."

She hands me the box and I open it. I pulled out a necklace that has my symbol as the pendent. Jade knew I didn't like it but loved it. We hugged for a while and soon Storm came in. The three of us talked for a bit and about ten minutes later I was out the door, using my board, I went to the airship. On my way there I'm being called out and looking over where the voice is coming from, I see the fishermen and shopkeepers waving at me and wishing me luck and telling me to be safe. Most of them are like family to me so I'll visit them when I have free time. What seems like fifteen minutes, I spot Rai and Orenji waiting for me to arrive.  Rai begins to wave both her arms as she spots me. Stopping in front of them, I was told I can leave my stuff with the other bags that are on the side. So I did. Orenji placed a hand on my shoulder.

Orenji: "Well, today's day we study and train to become huntsman and huntresses. Nervous?"

Crystal: " I should be asking you that. You growing up with parents that graduated from Beacon, they'll be expecting more from you and Rai. I trained with you guys after my parents stop showing up around the house and they know I'll pass their expectations. I'm a fast learner."

Orenji tucked my head under his arm and gave me a noogie which messed up my hair and gave me a bit of a headache. Rai giggled and told him to stop. Which he did after leaving me a bit disoriented. I smacked him in the back of his head which made him growl like a dog at me, even though he is not a faunus, makes me smirk. We were told to board the airship and moments later after all the bags were loaded into the airship, we took off. Looking around I see a lot of the people that look familiar but I cant remember where I have seen them or when I saw them. Rai is talking to Orenji while I just stared out the window. i placed a hand on my pendent knowing my sisters are wishing me the best of luck at Beacon. Just thinking of what adventures are to come during my time at the academy and after I graduate. One thing for sure, I would have Rai and Orenji by my side every step of the way.

Rai: "Always day dreaming. What you thinking now?"

Crystal: "Just of all the cool adventures we'll have during and after Beacon. I can only imagine what's it's like in other kingdoms. Especially Vacuo, you guys said its a great place and I could also use you two as my guides when we get there one day."

Orenji: "It'd be nice to see our old friends again and the place we spent some of our childhood at. To see the looks on their faces when they see Rai and I now."

Rai: "That'll be priceless! Although, we'll also be shocked to see how much they have grown over the past few years."

We kept talking until I felt someone staring at me. I turned around and didn't see anyone looking at me or looking guilty. This annoyed and confused me at the same time. Rai and Orenji looked confused as well. I told them about the other night when I saw a silhouette of a person on the roof of a building while I was looking out the window.  Rai was creeped out when I mentioned this and Orenji was weirded out a bit. Thinking about who it could be, I wonder if they'll appear at Beacon. But I have to say is that the eyes staring at me aren't creepy or wanting to attack or anything but kind of like someone making sure I'm doing good than bad. Whoever the faunus person is, I will find out.

Orenji: "What would a faunus want with you in the first place?"

Crystal: "How should I know?! We don't know if this faunus is part of the White Fang."

Then I remembered that I asked Ozpin about the faunus but he doesn't know about him, just heard of him.

Crystal: " I thought Ozpin would know about the faunus but he said he only heard about him."

Rai: " Well maybe someday we'll meet this faunus. Only time will tell." 

Orenji and I nodded and just started talking about other stuff. To annoy Orenji, Rai and I started talking about boys. He put on a "You got to be kidding right" face which had Rai and I dying of laughter. After what seemed like fifteen minutes, the news came on. They were doing a report on a criminal named Roman Torchwick. Supposedly the leader of the White Fang. The report states that anyone that has any information should report to the authorities. Doubt cops with less training than a huntsman or huntress would be able to capture him. With an organization that could be larger than a kingdom won't be easy to capture, let alone even get close to. The World of Remnant isn't like those movies we watch and the hero gets close to the villain without breaking a sweat. After the report, looking out the window, Beacon is in perfect sight. I look around to see a lot of people amazed from the sight. Rai's lit up like fireworks, and Orenji has his jaw hanging. Rai hits and then pats his head which gets him a little annoyed but Rai just laughs a bit. The airship begins to dock and soon we are already getting off the ship. I immediately see a blond haired boy run and vomit into a nearby trash can. Gross, but not a lot of people are big on air travel so he gets a pass. Looking around, I can see a lot of different weapons such as a mace, fire sword, dust knives, and a bunch of guns. Rai and Orenji parents had told me it's a big thing about students making their own weapons at Beacon. To my left, I see luggage that belongs to some sort of rich person. There is a symbol but I can't really get a good look cause of the people blocking my view. The three of us are in like a giant theater room that is packed with a lot of first year students like us. Fifteen minutes later, I hear a girl yelling at someone about an explosion with a few dust crystals. Suddenly, Porf. Ozpin is on stage with a women next to him.

Ozpin: " I'll keep this brief. You have traveled here today, in search of knowledge . To hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you finish, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look among you and all I see is wasted energy. Need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will only carry you so far. Its up to you to take the first step."

After his short speech, the women next to him said that we all will be in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow is our initiation. Ozpin never mentioned that to me when he came to my house and allowed me to study here. Then again, where would be the fun of that, expecting thing to be given to you easy is not the best way to become a huntress. So I have been told before. Anyway for the rest of the day, Rai, Orenji, and just started talking to some people, getting to know them and where they come from. Good way to pass the time.

-Night time-
  All the first year students are in the ballroom and most are already in their sleeping bags or just chatting. Some of the guys still awake are just messing around with each other and making jokes. Doubt Rai's father would approve of the guys at the sleepover, aside from the boy in the footed pajamas. Not a great way to get the ladies my friend. Anyway Rai and I just talked while Orenji was sleeping. Just mainly on how our lives will change forever through the years after graduating from this school.

Rai: "To imagine what the rest of Remnant is like."

Crystal: "Sadly, most likely overrun with Grimm. Once you're away from the walls of the kingdom, you're on your own out there."

Rai: "Well yeah but if someone were trained well enough, they could survive. Right?"

Crystal: "Doesn't matter much sometimes. Even some of the best have died on missions. As human's get stronger, so do our enemies."

Rai: "True, but we have each other's back. There's no way we can be beat!"

I chuckled but nodded. Soon after she went to sleep and I was about to when I heard some girls arguing. Sounds like the girl I heard in the theater room. I looked and saw four girls. One was sitting down with a book in her hand, another with strawberry patterned pajama pants, a girl with long blonde hair and the other girl with long white hair. The girl sitting down reached for the candle next to her and blew it out. Then I just fell asleep. Tomorrow, initiation day, if I ever bother to wake up.
