A long, hard week was passed watching Father arrange his classroom. Serenity watched him intently, helping every way she could.
Finally, it was time for the feast. Severus decided this year she could stay up late and go, as long as she behaved like a ladylike young child who controlled herself.
Usually, Serenity wasn't allowed out of their private quarters, unless she was going to meet with Professor Dumbledore and she was with her father. Serenity was okay with this; she knew what the castle was like.
The schoolchildren filled the hall, happy and excited with laughter. Some pointed and whispered at the little girl, but she didn't seem to notice.
The bowls filled and refilled, but finally it was time for Dumbledore's yearly speech. Ren knew it was going to be interesting. He turned and gave her a wink, and she gave him a smile.
"As you all know, Serenity Goetz is staying with Severus Snape, and she will be appearing more often around the castle. I hope you will all treat her kindly as she makes her way." The professor looked over at the Slytherins, who put on innocent faces and smiled.
Serenity noticed herself getting sleepy. She asked her father if she could go, and her said yes. He lifted her down and she skipped to the chamber.
"Watch it, kid," A boy growled as she darted past him. He had almost white hair, green eyes, and a smirking expression. He sort of intimidated the girl, but she kept walking. She fell asleep quickly, her thoughts racing about the year ahead. She felt the wonderful year ahead. She was ready.
