Head pounding. Lip bleeding. Tears falling from my eyes. Muscles aching from the struggling against the restraints. Electricity runs through my body every time I don’t answer their questions.
"So. Tell me, how you met her? Ellen, I mean." Says the voice over the speaker. Not wanting to be hurt anymore, against my will, I answer.
"I met her at school. In year 9. I helped her fit in. What does any of this have to do with Her?" I pant getting the words out. My chest is hurting so much its causing me to take shallower breaths. A door opens out of my view. Someone walks in and laughs.
"What does this have to do with Ellen you ask? Hmm, I'm guessing as her best friend you would know all her secrets? Like, Why she transferred to your school? How she escaped from here?" The man and I were now face to face. His eyes were a dark brown and had thick stubble. His dark hair was cut short. He glared at me. Possibly trying to get an answer to the questions he already knew. I don't answer him. He pulls away and slaps me across the cheek.
"Where is she?!" He yells. My face is burning from where he slapped me,
"I don't know!" I scream back. I want to break free from the restraints and just run. Run away from this place, Getting the hell out of here and finding Ellen. The man walked back out of the room I was in, I heard him flip a switch, My eyes squeezed shut as I could tell what he was doing. I could feel the electricity burning though my veins. My body tenses up and twists violently. A scream escapes from my mouth as my body pulls and contorts to the limit of the restraints. My head thrashes from side to side. Then suddenly it stops. My breaths are quick and painful. The ropes cut into my arms and legs. Tears fall from my eyes again. I can't take any more of this. All of this to keep my best friend safe. The constant torture, the screams I hear from my other friends every night.
All so Ellen, can save the world.
