Orphan

My name is Lilly, I'm 16, and I'm an orphan.

My parents were killed when I was 12. They were killed in a terrible fire, the police think it was accident but I don't , I may be young but sometimes you have a hard time believing that.

But in this it's not gonna be one of the story's where it ends in a happy ending, in this there will be no happy ending.

Let me start from the fateful day.

Our house was right on the beach. I was down at the beach with my friend Sophie, we were only twelve so we weren't aloud to go in the water by ourselves, so we didn't. We just liked picking up shells and seeing who could get the biggest shell, while we were doing that we stared hearing fire trucks we didn't think much of them, but then we saw the smoke. Coming from MY house! We ran up the beach back to my house when we got there the house was is ashes there was nothing left.

That day I had to stay with my dads very good friend. But I could only stay there one day so the next day I was put into foster care. That's when my supposed long lost 'uncle' came forward. I always thought he came forward like finding a pair of old shoes, like claiming them.

He doesn't have a wife, or pets , I guess he isn't that likable. When the director from foster care drove me up

the streets we saw a bunch of colorful and nice houses, that's before we pull up to my Uncle Johns house. His house was dark, big and scary. When we got up to the house and he answered the door his house was big, dark, and scary.

--------------------------------------------- After the director left he showed me my room. It. Was. Horrible. It was small and dark and only had 1 window. Good thing I wasn't a plant because I would die. I think I still will. When we had dinner I had to cook it myself, he never even helped.

After dinner my uncle told me that I had to clean every room in the house. By my self! I mean how I a twelve year old gonna clean a mansion by her self? As I'm cleaning I find letters from my uncle to one of his friends.

One letter reads:

Finally I got that rich snob so now I can get some of her fortune and nobody can stop me!

How am I gonna get out of here? I have to runaway when he leaves for work.
