The trees blurred past the window of my dads car. "This is going to be a new start Alex, you can make all new friends sweetie." My dad said as we pulled up to my new school. Queens Mill High, oh joy. I grabbed my bag and got out the car and shut the door. " Right, new start." I said under my breath. As I walked to my homeroom I studied the faces of the people who walked past. They all seemed so happy with their friends, and I was all alone . I thought about what they were like , suddenly my thoughts were interpurted when I ran into someone or something. "Ah shit ! I'm so sorry" I mumbled as I tried to pick up the books on the ground. I stood up and found myself facing a blonde boy wearing a blue shirt. "Its okay, it was my fault anyways" he said flashing a smile that made my stomach do flips. I handed him the books "H-h-here" I stuttered still mesmorized by the boys beauty. I turned and started walking to homeroom, this time watching very closely to wear I was going.
By the time I had reached 3rd block I was annoyed, tired, and just wanted to go home. Since it was the first day and they don't teach anything, I toom out my phone and got on instagram. I began to lose track of time as I scrolled through the photos. To be honest I probably could have sat there all day if it wasn't for somebody calling my name.
"Alex?"
My head shot up and I nearly dropped my phone "huh?" I replied puzzled. My history teacher was standing on the other side of my desk staring dead at me.
"Alex, its your turn to share some information about yourself" she said in a slightly annoyed voice.
"Well" I searched the board for her name "Mrs. Jones I'm 14, I like food, sleeping, and I wouldnt give a fuck about you or this school even if I had one."
She looked shocked, as did the rest of the class. I waited for her to reply but she just stood the open mouthed and wide eyed. "Well, it seems like we are done here so if you don't mind I'm just gonna listen to my music. Mkay?" I said sharply as I put in my earbuds and turned Princeton Ave. by Issues up as loud as it could go.
I didn't hear the bell ring but I saw the kids leaving , so I stood up and walked out into the hallway. As I made my way through the crowd I found myself observing my surroundings more than I usually would, I was almost almost eager to see the blonde boy. But of course, I didn't.
For the rest of the day I pretty much isolated myself. I sat in the back of my 5th and 7th block classes and all alone at lunch. The final bell rang and I couldn't have been more relieved. Walking to the bus I found myself searching for the one friendly face id seen all day; the blonde boy in the blue. I gave up as I walked onto the bus, I wasn't going to find him. I sat down in the back of the bus and started fidling with my pbone. Suddenly a voice came from beside me.
"Hey! Can I sit with you?"
I sighed and looked over. I couldn't believe my eyes, standing next to me was the boy! "S-sure" I stuttered, he sat down next to me and my heart did summersolts. Ugh! This was so unlike me!
He looked over at me "I never got your name ya know" he smiled crookedly. Oh gosh, I can feel the blood rushing to my cheeks.
"Alex. My name is Alex Harper" I said softly while looking down at my hands.
He laughed "Well Alex Harper, I'm Bryan Gray". There goes that smile again.
The bus pulled away from the school and Bryan started talking to two boys sitting across from us so I started listening to music. It turns out me , the two boys Bryan were talking to, and 3 other kids are the first to get off in the afternoon. I moved past Bryan quickly and began to walk off the bus when he yelled "Bye Alex! ". I started walking faster so that people wouldn't realize that I was blushing.
When I got home the first thing I did was go straight to my room and sleep. I was in my bed untill I was forced to come down for dinner.
Spaghetti, salad, and bread covered my plate. Majoritiy will probably be wasted, I don't eat much anymore. I picked at my food while my dad and stepmom asked my siblings how their first day went. I knew I was next.
"So Alex, how was your first day?" asked my stepmom. I looked at her then back at my plate and continued to pick at my food without saying a word. My dad cleared his throat "Alex answer her" he paused "please?". I put down my fork, looked at them and my siblings then answered "Spectacular". I stood, threw away my food, and went back to my room.
As I layed in my bed, all I could think about was Bryan. The blonde boy in the blue.
