"No." I say firmly to my dad, crossing my arms, glaring at him with all my might. He chuckles at me loudly and ruffles my hair. Sitting down at he table, I cross my arms again, hoping to get through to my mom.
Of course not. All she starts talking about is the devil child. Evan. I just distract myself by pushing my spaghetti around.
"Carrigan? Did you hear me?" My mom's voice comes through as I realize I was zoning out.
"Hm?" Is my brilliant response. Mom rolls her eyes and sighs. "I said, 'Maybe you and Evan can spend some quality time together." Winking, she takes a bite of her salad.
"Can't I just stay home?" I ask, trying to give my dad puppy-dog eyes.
"Not gonna work." He deadpans. I slouch back in my chair, excuse myself, then go upstairs. I walk out onto the balcony, sigh, and lean over the edge.
"Hey stupid! Don't fall!" Evan's voice rings through the air. I just choose to ignore him. "Hey. We're taking a trip together in two weeks! How great is that?" I could practically bottle the sarcasm seeping out of his voice.
"So, I heard," I say rolling my eyes, "Do you know how long the trip is?" I ask, hoping that it's only a weekend.
"I don't know," he pauses and climbs up the tree, stepping onto the railing of my balcony, "One. Maybe two."
"One, maybe two what?"
"Weeks." He smirks as I groan. "Ya know, it won't be that bad." His baby blue eyes sparkle as the sun starts to set. Leaning on the rail, he just stares at me. Not in a creepy way, but I can't read him, but he looks really hot at the mo- NO CARRIGAN!
"Meh." I deadpan then walk inside, followed by Evan.
"Whoa, your room is swag."
"Swag? Really?" I say after bursting out laughing. He nods, then plops himself on my bed.
"Wait, I don't like you. Why are you in my room?"
"So I can do this." He races to my dresser and pulls out every single one of my bras and every pair of underwear, and throws them all over the place.
"EVAN!" I shout, feeling my face go as red as my hair. "GET OUT!"
"Ooh, Carrigan has a thong?" He picks a green one up and throws it at me. "Funny, I thought you would only have grannie panties."
"Get the hell out!" I yell again, bending down to pick the pair up.
"Damn girl. You have a nice ass."
"Evan, I am going to call your mom if you don't get out in less than 20 seconds." That'll get his attention. He's a total momma's boy. His eyes go wide as he makes his way over to the balcony.
"I think I'll keep this as a souvenir, though." He states, holding up another thong, then races over to the tree and climbs down it.
"Damn it! I hate you!" I scream down to him.

EVAN'S POV
"Damn it! I hate you!" I hear Carrigan yell. I snicker and keep running. I didn't actually take the thong, I left it in the tree. I wonder how long it'll take for her to find it.
"Nah!" I should back, jumping over the fence, this time, landing on my feet.
Walking into my room, I shut the door and try to do my homework. About five minutes later, the book is on the floor, and I'm just staring up at the ceiling.
Why does the one girl I've ever had actual feelings for hate me?
