Carmen woke up the next afternoon to the sound of Pierce The Veil playing softly on the stereo. She smiled sleepily and rubbed her eyes using the back of her hands. The memory of the day before flooded her mind. It sent a warm feeling throughout her body, making her giggle to herself and sit up. She stretched out her tiny limbs and yawned heavily. Just a few minutes later Cayden walked into her room, his hair standing to attention. Carmen giggled at his bedhead and tried to fix it as he sat beside her. He smiled crookedly, still half asleep.
"Your hair is insane" she mumbled. He shrugged and yawned.
"So is yours.." He replied as he fixed a few strands. "So? Was last night everything you ever dreamed?"
"Almost.. It lacked some make out sessions" she smirked. He rolled his eyes and pushed her away gently.
"You're so dumb" he shook his head but he did grin. "How are we twins"
"Well.. Because.. Mom and Dad-"
"Shut up!" Cayden grabbed a pillow and hit her with it, sending her into a fit of laughter. He groaned and stood up, leaving the room as quickly as he entered. Carmen calmed herself and smirked. She turned the stereo off and picked her phone up from the nightstand. There was a text.
"Morning Cutie! Had a lot of fun yesterday. Thanks for having me :)" Vic Fuentes texted her.. She stared at her phone in shock for just a few seconds before she squealed with excitement. Ashton was at her door in a minute to make sure his daughter was alright. She blinked and looked at him, smiling an innocent smile.
"The hell was that?" He asked, chuckling slightly at her smile. "You alright?"
"Yes.. Vic texted me!" She pointed at her phone, showing him the screen.
"I ran up those stairs for this?" He rolled his eyes but read the text anyway, patting his daughter on the shoulder. "So happy for you, kid. Get downstairs, we're eating lunch soon"
"Lunch!?"
"You slept through breakfast"
"Oh, well that's not the first.."
Ashton chuckled and ran his fingers through Carmen's hair before leaving the room and returning downstairs to his wife. Carmen looked back down at her phone and smiled wide.
"Thanks for coming. I had a lot of fun too :)" she responded, figuring that wasn't too weird or too formal. She got out of bed and walked downstairs. The family ate together. Small chat happened about the day before, causing Carmen to have a continuous smile on her face.
After they ate, Paige and Ashton went to work. Work meaning her father went to hang out with the band and her mother went to her tattoo shop. Cayden left to his girlfriend's place which left Carmen to figure out what she wanted to do. She took a quick shower and got dressed. She did her hair and her make up before she decided on texting her boyfriend.
"Busy today?" She texted him. He read it instantly and already started to type.
"Not really. What do you want to do?"
"Beach?"
"I'll meet you there"
Carmen slipped her shoes on and grabbed the keys to her car. She made sure the pets had food and water before leaving. She drove to the beach, being the first one there. She sat in the sand by the water, just far enough away from the ocean where the waves wouldn't reach her. It took Michael about fifteen minutes to show up.
When he finally did show, he walked up behind her and dropped to his knees to wrap his arms around her. She smiled and leaned back against him. He looked down at her and chuckled softly as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"Someone is full of smiles" he talked low to her. He changed positions so he was sitting behind her with his legs laying to her sides.
"Well duh.. Yesterday was amazing. And Vic texted me this morning" she smirked and looked up at him.
"Oh really? Should I be worried?" He smirked back as he twirled a strand of her hair around his finger.
"Probably. Obviously texting leads to marriage"
"Oh shit. Well.. Damn. I guess I'll have to fight him"
Michael leaned closer to her and softly kissed the side of her neck, causing her to shiver. She relaxed to the touch of his lips and closed her eyes.
"No hurting Vic. Or we'll never get a new album" they both laughed.
"True.. I'd like to hear that new album"
"Me too"
They sat in silence for a while after that. They cuddled and listened to the sounds of the ocean. One of the most relaxing sounds to listen to. Sometime during the cuddling, Carmen found a stick and started to doodle in the sand. She drew hearts with their initials in it. She also tried to draw Michael but only having a stick and sand to use made it a little harder. But she did okay for what she had.
They relaxed together for hours until Michael had to leave to go hang out with his friends. Carmen gave him a quick hug and then they kissed before he left. She sighed gently to herself but continued to smile as she watched the clouds in the sky. Her phone lit up, catching her attention. She answered when seeing Vic's name and photo covering the screen.
"Hello?" She smiled to herself.
"Hey Cutie. How's your day going?" Vic's voice sounded cheerful, causing her to smile more.
"Going good.. Just sitting at the beach right now.. My boyfriend went to hang out with his friends" she talked softly, trying to keep her voice from doing anything weird like squeaking.
"He left you to hang out with friends?" He sounded disappointed.
"Well he had previous plans. I don't mind it"
"Right.. Well, I talked to your dad a while ago. I was thinking maybe in a week or two, depending our schedules, we can all hang out again?"
"Really? I'd love that!"
"I knew you would" he chuckled. "I'll just have to see what the schedule has for me. Maybe I can get Mike or Tony to come with me this time"
"Yes! I want to meet them too" she giggled at her own eagerness. He laughed.
"I'll see what I can do, Cutie.. I'll see what I can do" He made her blush.
"Okay" she replied, not knowing what else to say. The conversation fell silent for just a few seconds.
"It was really nice meeting you, Carmen. Your father said you've been wanting to meet me for a while.."
"He did? I mean.. Yeah.. I have.. But not in some weird obsessive way.." She was obviously lying. He chuckled.
"Of course not. I've been wanting to meet you kids anyway! He talks so much about you. It almost felt as if I did already know you"
"He's a great dad.."
"Yeah, he's a great friend too."
"He didn't talk about you much"
"Oh, that kind of hurts" Vic laughed, Carmen did too. There was noise in the background on Vic's end. Carmen tried to listen closely but couldn't make anything out. Only that it was some girl. "Alright Cutie, I have to go. We'll talk soon though alright?"
"Oh yeah. Sure"
"Bye Cutie!" He hung up. Carmen slowly lowered the phone from her ear. Who was that? She shook her head.
"Okay.. Stop obsessing Carmen" she mumbled to herself and ran her fingers through her hair. She wasn't jealous.. Of course she wasn't.. Right..?
