For the first day of school I didn't know if this school was a good fit for me. I had gotten high-fives, and I also got evil glares, many of the flares coming from Rubys friends. By third period every had known what had happened, and I mean everyone.
At lunch when I got to the cafeteria, and got a salad and chips and because the unfortunately didn't have lemonade, got an apple juice for a drink. I turn around an realize I have no where to sit.
"Come on, you get to sit with me and my group today." Jess says to me with a friendly smile.
"O, ok" I say shyly
Wait I'm not supposed to be shy, I'm supposed to be strong, and not shy.
"Ok" I say again but louder.
When we get to the table Jess introduces me to her friends. Across from where I'm sitting was a boy who is apparently named Alex Johnsen, with nerdy glasses and acts nerdy. Next to him is Dylan White, with a football jacket on and looks like he can plow through like 20 men with his built stature. Besides him is a girl with bright red hair named Karin Smith, and next to her is her "twin from another mother" who is a girl who looks like Pocahontas names Alice Reed.
That makes up six people for a table of eight, If you include me and Jess.
"Who else sits at this table?" I ask.
"Ben Cooper and Dex Anderson, probably held in for doing something stupid, Again." Says Dylan rolling his eyes.
"Well thanks for the love Dylan!" I hear someone say from behind me.
I turn around to see to boys, one with blond hair and the other with brown "Justin Beiber" hair.
"Welcome Ben." Dylan replies.
Ben looks at me and says "Well look what we have here, the talk of the school." With an impressed face.
He puts out his hand and says "I'm Ben, if you haven't heard."
I return the favor, shaking his hand saying " I'm Fern..... If you haven't heard."
"Huh, pretty name. O, and this is...."
He turns around to see his friend gone.
"Well his name is Dex." Says Ben.
"Where did he go? He was just here." I ask.
"I dont know" says Karin
"He must've gone to the bathroom." says Alice adding to her sentence.
"That boy has a bladder the size of a peanut." says Karin finishing for her "twin".
This made even me laugh, along with everyone else.
When I got home I drove striaght to the stables.
"Well that was an interesting day" I say to my horse Tucker.
In reply he hits me with his nose gently.
"Ya, ya, I brought you some treats. But you need to focus today, we have a new little kid we are giving lessons too" I say to him as I take him out of his stall.
As if on cue I hear a loud engine come up the road.
I tie him up at the cross ties and head outside to meet tucker and mines new student.
Next to my old car is an expensive looking black Ferrari.
"Wow, nice car." I say to no one.
I see an energetic 10 year old hop out of the car. Next thing I know I am wrapped in her arms with her yelling " I get to ride horsies today! Yay!"
I need down so that I'm eye to eye with her and say " Hi, yes you will, but first you need to be a little quieter or else you will scare the horses."
She quickly quieted down and said "Sorry, so you are Fern, right? You are my coach!"
"Yes I am, and what is your name?"
"I'm Lauren."
From behind me I hear someone say. "And I'm Dex, her older brother."
I stand up to see a boy with brown "Justin Beiber" hair looking down at me. "Hi, I'm Fern....... Wait are you friends with Ben?"
"Ya. I'm leaving" He replies like a grumpy old man.
"I'll tell mom if you do! You know your not supposed to leave me." says Lauren.
"Fine." He grumbles.
Because of how awkward it was getting I decided to change the subject.
"How about you help me get my horse ready?" I ask Lauren.
"Yay! Horsies!!" says Lauren.
"I'll be in the car waiting, but I'll come watch you when your ready." says Dex.
