"A packet of cigarettes", grumbled the guy in front.
It was a Friday night. Both Lena's parents were still working, leaving her at home alone. she did not feel like cooking, so here she was at 7'11 buying herself a microwaved dinner, and a strawberry ice-cream- Her favorite.
Lena bit her lip, eyebrows furrowing, as she glanced up at the guy standing in the queue in front of her.
Wait I know him, he goes to my school. Oh my god he's buying cigarettes! Isn't he underaged?
There stood Jayden Lee, the infamous "player" of her school. At 182 cm, he towered over Lena's 160 cm frame, in his plain white t-shirt, black jeans and leather shoes. His dark brown hair was swept to a side. He was one of the most popular guys in Commonwealth High, who was well-known for his great looks and his... Erm... Hobby- Sleeping with different girls every other night.
Is that mint I smell? Must be his body soap... Or was it his breath? Minty breath is nice... Waitaminutewhatthe- Why am I thinking about his smell? Ew, I should stop.
"Erm... Do I know you?"
"H...huh?" Lena blinked and snapped out of her thoughts.
"Why are you staring at me? You're kinda creeping me out." Jayden said. His tone was neither friendly nor cold, it was just... Emotionless with a blank look.
She blushed upon being caught staring.
"N...nothing" she replied with a stutter, biting her lip and turning her gaze to the ground. Awkward.
There was something about Jayden that intimidated her. She did not know what was it though... His height? Reputation? Piercing gaze? Looks? Maybe a little of everything.
"O-kay then..." he said looking at her weirdly.
There was a pause.
"Your ice-cream's melting."
"Oh."
"Erm, I'd like to stay and chat but I gotta go... bye." Jayden said, except his 'bye' seemed more like a question.
Huh.
He seems so different from the impression I have of him from school. I thought he would try to flirt with me and attempt to get in my pants or something, given that he is a well-known player and all, and has slept with anything with boobs, but I guess I'm wrong.
"Then again, you can hardly count your chest as boobs, LOL and it's late at night, do you really think he would want to be flirting with strangers at this time? Besides, he probably already has a girl over at his house and you are not even close to any of the girls his type!"
I should stop talking to myself, it's weird.
"Yes you should stop."
"H...huh?" Lena blinked at the cashier.
Did I say that out loud?
"Yes, yes you did!" The cashier retorted.
Oops...
The cashier furrowed her eyebrows, huffing in annoyance and gave Lena a 'are-you-mentally-sane' look.
She gave the cashier an apologetic look then hurriedly paid for her food and headed home, trying not to think about the weird encounter that just occurred.
