I groaned in sync with Ron as Hermione barged into the room that Ron and I were sharing and threw open the curtains.

"Ahhh! Hermione, why???!!!!!" Ron complained.

"It's already August 29th and we got our Hogwarts letters. By the way, Ron, your mom is making sausages and pancakes as we speak."

Ron and I shared a look before jumping up and racing down the stairs from Ron's attic room. When we got to the kitchen, we were surprised to see that Hermione had beaten us there. Our shock must have been evident because she scoffed and said "We can apparate you know."

We felt like idiots.

We managed to eat about three servings before Hermione presented our Hogwarts letters to us. The envelopes looked thicker than usual. Ah, there's an extra piece of parchment in there. Last year, Ron, Hermione and I had decided that we would return to Hogwarts to complete our education along with a few more people from our grade, for instance Neville, Dean, Seamus, Pavarti and Padma, Blaze, Pansy, Malfoy, etc.

Since I already knew what the other papers said, I took out the new parchment. It said:

Harry, I am sending similar letters to Ron and Hermione. This year, we will be receiving some special exchange students from America. Last year, they went through a war. Only with the help of newfound allies were they able to survive. I will not lie to you, a threat is rising so they are coming so that we may teach/help each other for this is a threat against them to. They have had terrible lives and I know that you'll be curious but please don't ask them about it. If they want to tell you they will, when they're ready. Here is a list of their names:

You and the Weasleys will be hosting them for two nights before coming. Please welcome them. They'll be at diagon ally to buy their supplies.

I looked up to see Ron and Hermione both reading and re-reading their extra letter. Finally they put the notes down.

" Exchange students? I didn't know that Hogwarts took exchange students. Mione, you've read all about Hogwarts, has there been something like this before?" Ron said.

" I don't know." Hermione said, a confused expression on her face. But, underneath that, there was excitement. I swear that the whole house gasped. Hermione rolled her eyes.

" WHAT?!!! The great HERMIONE JEAN GRANGER doesn't KNOW something?"

I turned to see Ginny standing at the bottom of the stairs. She walked over and kissed my cheek before sitting next to me to eat.

" So, what doesn't Hermione know?"

"If Hogwarts has ever previously had any exchange students." She looked up, confused.

"There are new exchange students from America that are coming."

Hermione suddenly straightened up.

"Ron, Ginny, do you know if there are libraries in the muggle village?"

Ginny nodded so once we'd finished eating, we went down to the village to look up the new students. We searched the name Percy Jackson, what we found was not encouraging. While Hermione explained to Ron and Ginny what a computer is, I found a blurry, black and white picture of two 12 year old boys and a 12 year old girl they were running from a burning bus. The American newspaper told a wild tale of criminal kids, kidnapping biker dudes and gun fights on beaches. We searched up the rest. Some had barely any info online about them while there was no mention of any Hazel or Nico or Jason. Everywhere we looked, there were strange stories of runways or murders or in this one girl's case a celebrity parent.

By the time we went back to the burrow it was supper time. Oh well, we'd meet them tomorrow at diagon ally. Besides, how much trouble could 12 year olds cause?

We should have read the date on those newspapers...

A/N: I'm so happy. Okay, I have a different account where I've written pretty much the same story but my friends kept getting me to make them characters when the whole reason that I wrote my own fanfic was to try to keep it as close to jk Rowling and Rick Riordon's original stories as much as possible while still being fairly original and combine two of my favourite fandoms.
