Chapter Fifteen

Nia

"So you went off to play house and left my mom with two kids while you got all this money!?"

"Nia listen you don't understand I love you and your brother but your mom and I weren't working out."

"Shut the fuck up! So you leave your children? No calls or letters not even a happy birthday! Nathan is 10 and despite his dead beat dad he is the sweetest thing and you let all that go."

"Nia listen."

"Don't Nia listen me you abandoned your own children! Wait me and Terrence are the same age, you cheated on mom? Tell me everything now."

"Nia we have to get Terrence to a hospital"

"Fuck all that. Explain yourself or I will put three bullets in your head."

"Okay okay, I cheated on your mom but I didn't want her to find out because I really loved your mom and I left Terrence's mom but she started getting messy so I left when you were around 4 and I married her and she cheated on me so I left her came back and when I found out about Nathan I didn't want anymore kids so I left and started building up this empire but this nigga named Jack tried to knock me off.

"Man that's my motherfucking dad you talking about! You the nigga that was his rival? Now it makes sense I remember him saying watch out for Tez but never listened. I should kill you, you the reason he in there!" Jayden shouted and I calmed him down so he could continue.

"Well after that Terrence's mom was pregnant and in need of money so that's when I moved them in and she had Tiffany. I was mad at her for having another man's baby so I took Terrance and we ended up here with my sister and her daughter Lisa. Soon after Terrence's mother died of cancer and Tiffany came to stay with us. I never meant to leave you, leaving you guys was a mistake. I'm sorry."

"You not sorry, you sorry you got caught and all this time you were in the same town and didn't even try to make things right you are an ass! And Lisa? Is she ghetto about 5'5 with brown hair?

"Yeah."

"Well your niece tried to kill me over Jayden and she's dealt with and it's time you get dealt the cards you dealt out to mommy, me, and Nathan! Open the safe and give me the money, Now!"

"Nia please don't-"

"Shut the fuck up!" I said while I shot at the wall above his head.

"Okay." He walked to the safe and handed me all the money and I walked off shooting Terrence's lifeless body showing him how it would feel to be without. I was walking when two gun shots went out. One bullet missed my head by a centimeter and I turned around to see my dad on the ground. Jayden had shot him after he tried to shoot me.

"You tried to kill me? Your own daughter?"

"Fuck you! You killed my first born!"

"Fuck me? I was born first! You know what you gonna suffer how my family did. Ima drop you off where you started in front of my mom's house and I want you to spend your last minutes explaining what you did."

We all got in our cars and went our separate ways. Jayden called the clean up crew to deal with the bodies in the warehouse. I drove to my mom's house and Jayden dragged my father to the front porch. I rang the door bell and my mom opened the door a couple minutes later. She looked shocked and tears filled her eyes.

"Oh my gosh! What the hell are you doing here!?"

"Listen Nieka your crazy ass daughter robbed me and then her boyfriend shot me."

"That's funny that our daughter could rob you when you owe her and Nathan for their birthdays, Christmases, graduations, new school clothes and supplies, trips out of towns! You abandoned your damn kids and you lucky you only got that one shot in your chest!"

"Tell her everything you told me now!" I spoke up.

He broke the story down to my mom and she took it all in the cheating, the lies, the betrayal, and abandonment of her own children. She stayed quiet until he was finished.

"You know what god bless you, because you gon need some type of blessing to keep you alive by the time the ambulance comes. I gave you the best of me and children at that, but that wasn't enough! I wasn't enough! But I forgive you and now you finally realize how it feels to be low, real low with no help. Rest easy."

My mom had called the ambulance to come and told us to go home but before I left she called out to me.

"Nia?"

"Yes."

"I'm sorry, I should of never lashed out on you because of your father's behavior. Let me know when you go to the doctors I would love to be there."

I smiled. "I will mommy, I love you."

"I love you too sweetheart, and Jayden I apologize for what I said about you never being there I know you'll be a great dad!"

"It's okay, Ms. Johnson and thank you."

"You're my son now so I think ma or mom is more appropriate. You guys get going now the sirens are getting close."

We said our goodbyes and drove home and once we got in we undressed and went straight to sleep tonight was a long night.
