Sardonic - sarcastic, almost meaningless, etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------
She lay there,
On the ground.
Half broken,
No sound
Had escaped from her mouth,
For it couldn't.
She was dead,
In the midst, lay ahead -
A crowd of confusion,
A crowd lacking hope.
Both adults and children
Stand behind rope.
And the useless police tape.
Which trudged around the corpse,
Daring one to try and fray
The consisting circle.
Amongst all the bubble,
Beneath all the cards of sorrow and flowers,
lay there her pair of football boots in the stubble.
Frantically surviving on the shoelace that hung on the fence post -
Not caring whether it may well be stolen.
I don't mind, really.
It didn't fit me anyways.
